There may be no code smell ranker than this: That screenshot was sent by a 3rd-party form vendor who was getting frequent errors from their Marketo API calls and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. “Does this look right?” they asked. “Nope,” I said immediately — even before they showed me any error messages. See, even taking Marketo out of the picture, this is wrong for any API. If you see something like this, it’s frankly not suitable for work. No way is that value correctly JSON-encoded It’s clear they’re not encoding since there are double quotes outside the template variable. A JSON-encoded string always includes the double quotes. (Simple JavaScript example: JSON.stringify("Hello") is "Hello" with the quotes, not Hello. You cannot add another pair of " around it.) Let’s review how their “bizarro JSON” logic works. They’re using Jinja templates, but any template language works the same way. Since there’s no filter specified, the property

Hi Team,How do you safely update the sling:configRef property of a page template structure in AEM as a Cloud Service, given that direct editing of /conf in Cloud Service is discouraged, and doing it incorrectly can break template-based content inheritance?

We’re using AEM as a headless CMS with a React frontend (using SPA/editor.html integration). I'm trying to determine the best place to generate the sitemap:Should we generate the sitemap from AEM using a custom servlet or ACS Commons Sitemap Generator?Or should the sitemap be generated from the React app (at build/runtime) by calling AEM APIs (e.g., content fragments/pages)?What are the pros and cons in terms of performance, SEO, and maintainability when using headless AEM?Would appreciate any best practices or recommendations from teams that have implemented this in a headless setup.

Hi all, I am trying to understand Flow of Control in AEM - Front end to Middle layer to back end. Let us assume I have created a template T, components C1, C2 and C3.I created a page P using this template and configured all components.Front end is in Sightly and Back end is in Servlets, Sling Models and OSGI Services. How to understand the flow of control, say from a button on front end? I could look at the components code, but they were configured during page P creation. Appreciate all your replies. Thanks,RK.
We are encountering a recurring issue in our Adobe Campaign environment involving a persistent database cursor process that appears to be related to nlserver_web_xxx. Specifically, we are observing entries such as: Fetch 30 FROM cur2383 This cursor remains in an active state in the database and does not get released, even though there are no active campaigns or workflows running at the time. As a result, it is locking certain tables that are critical for our nightly data refresh processes. What is the purpose of this nlserver_web_xxx process and the associated cursor (e.g., cur2383)?Why does the cursor remain active and not get released automatically?
Hi all, I wanted to know if anyone has ever attempted to adjust the font size of text in report?
We want to cut down on the number of hits we're sending to AA but don't want to limit the tracking by geogrpahy. Ideally we'd be able to track some like 1 in 2 visits and if possible adjust that if we decide to only track every third visit. Think maybe we can use "Max Frequency" but not totally sure this would meet our needs. Any help and all creative ideas appriciated.

By @surebee and @vinayso With optimization programs becoming essential for businesses, a question we often see in consulting from clients is how they can improve their existing program. Improving your optimization program can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be! The ideal state for an optimization program can look different based on your organization’s resources, testing objectives and KPIs - there is no one-size-fits-all approach. We’ll review different aspects of optimization programs and what we’ve seen helps to improve them. Assess current state The first step is to establish a ‘baseline’ where you will want to assess where you are currently in your program. Having a good understanding of your current state will reveal areas to improve to effectively scale your optimization program. Start by taking an inventory of your resources, testing workflows, and processes. Adobe technology stack Get a good understanding of the
Hi, I am seeing differences between email insights and email performance reports for the same set of emails i.e engagement programs and email programs. The opens and clicks specifically don't match for the same timeframe. Please advise.
Question for the hivemindWhat tools to do use to prep files (data transformation, standardization, etc) before loading a lead list into Marketo? I know a lot of people rely on Marketo smart campaigns to do data normalization but my concerns with that approach is that if there are spelling errors in the file then the data won't be normalized correctly which in some cases can and will cause sync issues between Marketo and SFDC. Goal is to try to clean up as much of the data before loading into Marketo to prevent this. Example scenario: Lead file from a conference or tradeshow may have fields below: First NameLast NameEmailCountryCompanyStateRoleTitleProduct of Interest Some fields like Country and State in your system need to align with dependent picklist values from CRM so for example United States needs to transform to US and have 50 valid state values that are also 2 letter codes(New Hampshire = NH). Other fields such as Role and

Hi, I'm trying to setup a new publish instance in aws linux machine. I have setup the aem publish environment and trying to access via the hostname. So the Request flow is Dispatcher server -> ALB (Protocol port: 7000) -> AEM Publisher Server (App Instance running on 7000) I have setup all the dispatcher configurations and routing the traffic through renders to the ALB on port 7000 When i access the host url lets say aempublish.com it's going to aempublish.com:7000/content/we-retail.html where the page is not loading. If i manually remove the port and hit url the page loads fine. I have setup the proxy and rewrite rules as well but still facing the same issue. Checking the network the request is getting redirected twice with 302 status code1) aempublish.com -> aempublish.com/index.html2) aempublish.com/index.html -> aempublish.com:7000/content/we-retail.html Dispatcher.any /virtualhosts {"aempublish.com"}
Description - Block access at the proof level and only allow those listed to proofWhy is this feature important to you - we've had some requesters find their way from the Document section and interject before the asset is ready to share out.How would you like the feature to work - Allow access from the Workflow level for the versionCurrent Behaviour - Anyone with project/task access can navigate to a proof from the document section and start commenting. Once they are in a version (accidentally) they are added to the the Workflow in a new stage. We can set the Requester access level and restrict it for all but it would be nice to do it from a proof/version level especially during internal proofing before the asset is shared back to the Requester/stakeholder..
