Working a 7 day week

Our video team is required to work on Saturdays or Sundays occasionally. Since our default system config is Monday to Friday, is there a way I can change it to allow them to be assigned work on those days? Or is it as simple as setting the Task Constraint to Fixed Dates? Hi: I haven't figured out how to work weekends, officially, without playing with the schedule. I would open up specific weekend days that people would work, but that is about it. I look forward to other people's responses... Thanks! Eric

I set up a separate schedule for our folks in that situation. That's the only way I know to do it. You would create a special schedule for them that allows the days you want and then you'll be able to schedule on those days. Let me know if you need more information. I have the same issue and manage to come up with a solution. See below some explanations: There are 2 types of " schedule " in WF: Projects schedule Users schedule By "default" WF do the following: when one user only is assigned to a task, the task goes by the user schedule when multiple users are assigned to a task, the task goes by the project schedule (this is actually something that can be changed in your main setup option so you need to check if it is set up as described) when no one is assigned to the task, the task goes by the project schedule You can change the project WF schedule for projects that require weekend work to a full day + weekend schedule , ensure that all tasks that don't require weekend work are assigned to one user only (users should have a Mon to Fri schedule), assign more than one users to tasks that requires weekend work (e.g. their manager). Let me know if that makes sense. Ideally, would be great if WF would allow us to create Mon to Friday schedule where you can easily add exceptions for weekends worked. Right now you can only add days off as exceptions. Hmmm....that would work. Although this weekend work is intermittent - based on special events they need to cover. Let me try it and see what comes out of it. Thanks Vic!

Cool. Yeah you should be able to select specific dates to exclude (or include) for this special calendar. You may need to make it available 7 days a week and then add exclusions for the weekends they won't work.
