We’ve recently moved from the legacy to experience on the admin console.
Our Workfront Add-In for Outlook has since been giving us an error: Unable to get the outlookIdentityToken
We were told during the migration that we should be able to use the legacy link for the add-in, since it doesn’t take the experience league domain.
For this error, it’s suggested that we turn on Microsoft legacy tokens Troubleshooting: outlookIdentityToken error when using Workfront for Outlook | Adobe Workfront
But Microsoft depreciated them in Feb, and cannot be turned on beyond June without exception from Microsoft – even this won’t be possible past October this year.
We were wondering if an upgrade to the Add-in was under consideration/ on the roadmap.
Because we love the features facilitated by the add-in, having to work without is creating a lot of double work when briefing things in.
And we’re sure we’re not the only organisation who’ll be eager to see this work again.
Please let me know if you know anything of it, or whom I can reach out to.

Hi Monica,
Thanks for your response.
We did recently receive an announcement regarding the Outlook Add-in, but it only mentioned what I've stated in my original ask - that it would stop working by Oct this year.
Nothing was said with regards to any updates or changes being made to make this work with Workfront again. Would you have any insight into the roadmap for this add-in?
Thanks,
Kavya
Hi @KavyaSingh,
At this time, our engineering team has confirmed that there are no plans to replace or re-architect the Outlook plugin. That said, you do have a couple of options moving forward:
If I’ve missed any part of your workflow or if you’d like help exploring next steps, your account manager and our professional services team can also assist with evaluating Fusion-based solutions. You can also deliver additional feedback to them.
I’m sorry we don’t have a more direct replacement to offer. I know this isn’t ideal, and I truly appreciate your thoughtful outreach.

Hi Monica,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
While this isn't ideal, given we aren't using fusion, I can appreciate that this is where things stand.
If the road-map does ever change, we would greatly appreciate the add-in, as would others in the thread!
That said, thanks a lot for your help with this - appreciate it.
Regards,
Kavya
This add-on is important for adoption. My project managers try to keep all communications and requests in Workfront, however it's a battle. Additionally, when trying to implement new groups into my instance, this add-on is often a critical bridge to adoption. We have a couple dozen users who use it daily. Losing this add-on means an exponential increase in disconnected communications. We would appreciate if the product team reconsider engaging in a new solution.
I agree with the comment below - this integration is critical to our daily work. I use this feature on a daily basis and, without it, the efficiencies I have gained will be diminished. Please reconsider a new solution. We do not use Fusion, which doesn't seem to solve the issue anyway. Again, please reconsider building a new solution. Thank you.
Thank you for the update. But 2 things:
1) I agree with the others that responded that a non-action from Adobe to update the Outlook plug-in is a serious mistake and is very frustrating. Please escalate back to management that there is a lot of feedback concerned with non-support of a new plug-in.
2) PLEASE have product send out a full announcement to all Workfront users that this is not going to be supported for now. I have been waiting for a response from product for months now. If I didn't stumble upon this thread again, I would not have known of Adobe's response.
@SarahWilkersonCA, thanks for sharing the additional feedback.
I have passed this along to the Senior Product Marketing Manager.

The feedback has been passed along to the other Senior PMs as well.
In relation to point #2, an announcement was sent to users via the Announcement Center. The information is also posted to all Experience League pages for Outlook. See here for example.
