Is it possible to connect a card to multiple objects? (Issue & Task)

I am struggling to figure out a workaround for this and am still somewhat new to working with boards. Hoping for some help/suggestions 🙂

An issue is submitted through a custom form and added to the backlog column of a board. Once Issue is approved, we'd like to connect it to an associated project (which would add it as a task), and display the connected project on the card so that it is 1 click away; while ALSO keeping it connected to the Issue so that

A. Any comments made by the requester (who only has visibility to their submitted issue) are included on the card

B. The status of the original issue is changed to complete once the task/card has been completed

C. It doesn't keep the issue in the backlog as a duplicate

This isn't possible within the system.  Once you associate the request to a project (via conversion) that request becomes a 1:1 relationship with that project and you won't see it in your Board queue anymore.  That request then takes on the status of the project it's attached to as designed within the system.
