Video proofing via Vimeo or other external hosting site vs. uploading directly to Workfront

While the Workfront video proofing tool is great, we're trying to watch our data use and worry that if we allow all of our designers to upload video files directly into Workfront, we'll quickly approach our limit. As a workaround, we have been testing out using Vimeo to host the file (which is our current process) and using interactive web proofing in Workfront -- meaning, we copy the Vimeo URL into Workfront and make it interactive. We have tested several URL styles from Vimeo and found that the only one that generates a proof is the actual player (https://player.vimeo/video/####). Unfortunately though since the proof in Workfront is a website proof, it’s very limited -- there is only a play/pause option and a refresh button -- so there is no way to go backwards or forwards through the video, which is really necessary for any video longer than a minute. Does anyone have any new ideas for us? Including process suggestions for when videos should be uploaded directly to Workfront vs. other ways of proofing? Thanks!

@Barbara Sedlack‚ Did you ever identify a better workaround or solution to this?

Hi James -- no, we didn't pursue this process. We're currently either 1) proofing in WF by uploading mp4 files or 2) uploading to Vimeo and not using WF at all.
