Team Coverage when OOO

Is anyone else struggling to find the best solution for delegating project ownership while someone is OOO? Our production management team is currently assigning the person covering for them to the next task in the project template, however this does not give full permission to the project/does not send approval notices to the person covering (only the the project owner) and it's hard to manage/tedious. The inherited permission setting is also hard to fully understand and will leave this project in the person's queue even once the person is back from being OOO. We have tested changing project ownership, which seems to work well but looking to see if anyone else has any ideas/tips. Thanks! Brittney Lewis

We have a Project Manager group and we give that group Manage access to the project on all templates. So any project manager can jump in and cover for or help out another project manager, since they already have manage access to any project created from a template. Additionally we have a dashboard for project managers with various reports that brings up that user's projects. Plus a "Covering" dashboard, which has all those same reports, but with a Project Owner prompt instead of the $$USER.ID filter, so whoever is covering can pull up each report for whoever they are covering for.

Hi Brittney, You could try giving the delegated PM Manage access to the project(s) then removing that access level when the OOO PM returns. For the approvals, the OOO PM can delegate approvals from their Time Off calendar or the Home/My Work screen. Hope this helps, Teale Teale McCleaf
