I just had this issue here. I was able to reproduce it/make it stop by ensuring the tasks were in task number order. In the past, no matter how your tasks were sorted, clicking the add new task button would add a task to the bottom of the list, now for some reason, it will add it somewhere in the middle if NOT sorted by task number(based on what I saw). If you DO sort by task number, the add new task button works as designed and adds a new task at the bottom of the list. This is definitely catching my users off guard as they are used to just relying on the add new task button to work a certain way. And, in very complex projects with lots of subtasks, tossing a new one in the middle can create a LOT of challenges to fix.
