Re: EXISTS filter on a project report - Workfront 18-07-2022
Hi - If you want an OR with an EXISIT Filter, you add the OR:1: in front like you would with other filters. For an example: Here is one for an assignment report. Show all assignments for people in the Creative Services Team or Creative Executive Team whether it is their home team or not. You will see the second team has the OR:1: in front of it. EXISTS:1:$$OBJCODE=USEREXISTS:1:ID=FIELD:assignedToIDEXISTS:1:teams:name=Creative Services TeamOR:1:EXISTS:1:$$OBJCODE=USEROR:1:EXISTS:1:ID=FIELD:assign...

Re: Hi there, just reaching out to see if anyone working for a Creative agency is struggling with the Workload balancer when it comes to creatives viewing the work they have on? I am unable to find a simplified or visual view. - Workfront 28-06-2022
HI Lindsey - Not sure if you knew this since I haven't seen anyone mention it, but you can put the Workload Balancer on a Creative's Dashboard. Go to the WLB in the resourcing area and set it up the way you'd like the default to be for them (daily/weekly/monthly, 2 weeks/4 weeks/6 weeks/12 weeks, grouped by project or not, do you show daily allocations at the project level, how are the project color coordinated, etc.) and then for the filter do the wildcard filter User:Name equals Me and then an...

Re: Can you copy a custom form from one object to another? - Workfront 28-06-2022
Hi Christina - Unless you have an API automation or Fusion, you can't go from Project to New Request. However, last year, we released the feature that you could create a new request from a "copy" of an old request. In a sense, it copies everything, but it is a completely new request.

Re: Dashboard not showing data when added as a custom section on a program - Workfront 28-06-2022
Hi Rafal - Unfortunately the Run Report As applies to permissions/access and not filtering. It is great to use this, for example, if you have a dashboard/report for an executive. You can run the report as a system admin that way you know they are looking at all the information in the filter and not missing something just because it wasn't shared with them specifically.

Re: Dashboard not showing data when added as a custom section on a program - Workfront 28-06-2022
Hi Liza - Rafal is correct. When you put a dashboard in the left nav of a single object (i.e. Portfolio, Program, Project, Task, Issue), it will auto-filter the reports on that dashboard (minus Calendars) to pull information for that object. This is fantastic for like a report "tasks due today" as you can create the one dashboard and no matter what level you put it on, it will auto filter to just that Portfolio, Program, or Project without you having to create hundreds or copies. However, someti...

Re: Project report, Column data is Text mode, can't sort column correctly - Workfront 28-06-2022
Hi Drew - Not only can you not sort items within your collection (if you were displaying more than one value at a time), but you also cannot sort your projects by any of the values in the column (even if you have just one value showing). @Doug Den Hoed‚ has some great reporting tools if you have some budget and want fancier reporting. When I was on the client side, we used his Hot Sheet reporting tool so that we could sort and apply conditional formatting to items in a collection.

Re: Update previous calculations always? - Workfront 15-06-2022
Just to chime in here... remember that a calculation only updates when the object the field is on is updated. This means, just because the Resolve Project has a new Planned Completion Date due to a change, the issue and its calculation don't update right at that moment. Now, once the issue is edited, it will then go through the calculation and update so the Resolve Project's Planned Completion Date is updated. Now you can manually edit the issue OR... you can 1) go to the three dots and click Re...

Re: Does anyone know if there is a way to show Planned Vs. Actual hours in a report based on the Job Role in a report? - Workfront 14-06-2022
Hi Derek - Do you have one person/role assigned to your tasks? Or do you tend to have multiple? If you have one, then you can use a task report with planned hours vs actual hours grouped by Role. If not... things get tricky. Unfortunately, when you break things down to the assignment level, the information is separated between the Assignment Object Type for planned hours and the Hours Object Type for actual hours. I used to have two reports side by side on a dashboard that showed the two sets of...

Re: Program/Portfolio name on Issue custom form using calculated field - Workfront 07-06-2022
Yeah, I can totally see why that is misleading. They were trying to talk about the fact you didn't need valuefield or valueexpression, but the overall syntax is still wrong. @Jonathan Chen‚ - Can we ask someone to please correct this? The table underneath the Tip is correct, but as Manish pointed out, right above it where it says "To add a calculated data expression to a custom field on a task form for the Project Name, you use the following text:" is should say Project.Name

Re: Program/Portfolio name on Issue custom form using calculated field - Workfront 07-06-2022
Hi Manish, so close! For Calculated Fields though, you don't use the "tech name" or camel-case. Just the regular name. For Program... Project.Program.NameFor Portfolio... Project.Portfolio.Name SIDE NOTE for people who change names for objects: If you rename an object in your terminology setting, the text mode in the report is the same program:name, but for Calculated Fields it uses the new name Campaign.Name Took me forever to figure that out so want to save people time on that. LOL!
