Submitting future timesheets

Hi! I have created some timesheets that take us through the end of the year so that anyone who is leaving for Christmas can fill out theirs before they go. The only problem is that the 'submit for approval' button won't show on any for next week onwards, it only shows 'save and close timesheet'. Does anyone know why? How can I fix this?

Check to see if those timesheets are set to be approved. On my timesheets, whether future or past, if there is an approval on it, it has "Submit for approval". If it doesn't have approval on it, it says "Save and Close".
