People Tab Restrictions - Layout Templates Question

Setting up the layout templates, you can choose what tabs people see in the top nav (Home, Projects, etc.). I want my users (non-admins) to only see Teams as we currently don't have Planning, Scheduling, etc. setup. The only article on the Support website I could find was around "https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/articles/216607058-Creating-and-Managing-Layout-Templates">Creating and Managing Layout Templates . This talks about everything layout templates except the People tab and how this breaks down. I hope someone Workfront related see this so we can update the support article around this and help to clarify this. My question to the community, Do you know what criteria makes the People tab only show Teams? and/or How do I restrict the specific options in the People tab to only show what I want users to see? I created an idea to add from People tab editing abilities to the layout templates. Please upvote if you agree. Hi Brandon, You can remove People area from the Layout Template altogether so that the Users don't see it at all. Also, to answer your question, People area shows Teams for Worker license Users, so whether it displays Teams or People depends on the license the User holds. For Workers, it shows Teams, and when navigating there they don't have access to Resource management tools at all, just the ones relevant to Team member role - Working On Calendar, Team requests etc. You cannot customize People area from Layout Templates so it is a good idea to put it on voting. Thank you so much! This is very helpful. We want a select few to see only Teams and the rest, not see the tab at all. Knowing about the license type and how that effects the teams is very helpful info. Doing some research, I found that Workers and Reviewers will only see Teams in place of People, but Planners will see everything. A follow up question I have is, We want folks with a Plan license to see only Teams. Essentially, our main goal is only have admins see everything people related for now. If we could have the layout template give us the options to restrict what Planners see, that would be helpful. If there is a way to do this and I don't know of it I'm all ears. :) Brandon Walshin Apptio, Inc.
