Right now you can only report on record counts and numbers for graphs and matrixes. You can do a CNT (Count) and DCNT (distinct count) on strings but these don't appear in graphs or the summary.
Please allow users to Count strings and include this in a report. A common use case is to see the numbers of projects that a particular worker has worked on in the past month whether or not they are complete. You could do this in an hour report but you'd need to use dcnt to get the proper number of projects. In a custom form I want to calculate the default date for custom date fields using $$TODAY or dates on the object. (Planned Start, Planned Completion, Etc.)
For example DE:Project Launch Date might default Project Completion Date - 1 month to allow projects with post-launch activities, but would still be editable by the user.
Ideally a date field should have default date, minimum date and maximum date all calculated to allow us to sanity check our users.
So DE:Project Launch Date would default to -1 month of completion but must fall between entry date and planned completion date.

Hours are one of the most useful report types, but you can't calculate values on hour report graphs or directly add calculated fields to hour objects. If your hours are a mix of general/project/task and issue types it become impossible to group and graph on the data.
The ability to add calculated fields to all hours in the system or aggregate calculated columns onto a report would help immensely.
