Managing Hours Allocations

Hello - I am looking for tips on the best approach to manage hours allocations by month. By default, Workfront will evenly allocate, or "peanut butter spread" as I like to say, the total planned hours from the planned start to the planned completion date. On our larger projects, this is not really how the hours are likely to occur. We know there will be some ramp up time (fewer hours) and then heavy allocations in the middle, maybe a ramp down in hours for a bit and perhaps another heavy allocation at the end of the project as an example. We are talking 8-12 month projects, with maybe 30 people from 10 or so job roles. The last suggestion that we had from Workfront was to create Monthly tasks, however it is a maintenance nightmare to create monthly tasks for so many people on a bigger project. Has anyone figured out a simple way to accomplish this without creating massive amounts of tasks to manage? Thanks! Heidi Heidi Mantz Polaris Industries

Thank you for your perfectly-timed question Heidi. Our "http://www.atappstore.com">Resource Contouring solution provides exactly the type of High Level Detail Planning you seek, allowing planners to easily shape a single, months-long task at the month, week, or day level without having to resort to creating placeholder Tasks. I've attached our infographic to illustrate how it works. If you think it might be a good fit, please email me via doug.denhoed@atappstore.com and I'd be happy to provide more details Regards, Doug Doug Den Hoed - AtAppStore SEE you at LEAP using the GPS App! https://tinyurl.com/LEAPGPS Got Skills?
