Is there a way for the PTO calendar to also show Furlough or sick? And is there a way to see all those with PTO by Home group in the calendar?

PTO/furlough calendar... we can track everyones PTO via their own personal calendar but there isn't a way to roll-up into one calendar OR distinguish what is PTO vs furlough vs sick

Hi Elizabeth,

Timely question. A few suggestions to consider:

  • Create a Project called Furloughed, with one Task per person assigned at 100% with a Planned Start Date and Planned Completion Date that matches their expected unavailability, and then create a special calendar that displays all such tasks (e.g. Project = Furloughed)
  • Since Workfront shows user's profile photo in many places, do a Login As each person Furloughed, download their current photo and store it under their user (so you can reinstate it later), and temporarily set photo to something that indicates that they're furloughed (e.g. "Away On Furlough", or a Red X, or this symbol ‚õî, etc.) to remind other users that the person is away
  • To emphasize that even further, consider either disabling the end user's ID or (less drastically) assigning them as 100% to a Role called Furlough so that (either way) Workfront will help prevent/remind other users that that person is not currently available to be assigned any work until they're healthy and back at work

Hi Elizabeth,

I love Doug's idea for the furloughed folks.

But for regular PTO, there is a relatively new way to roll everyone into one calendar. When you "Add to Calendar," in addition to Tasks, Projects, and Issues there's now an option for Time Off where you can select your user's group, team, whatever.

Since you also asked about sick, since the Time Off tab on each user does not allow you to distinguish what kind of time off a User has, you would also want to replicate what Doug said above in his first bullet and do a different grouping on your calendar to label for Sick.
