Hiding/Deleting Templates

Hi! I am wondering if there is a way to hide a template without deleting it. If not, what are the impacts with deleting a template? Will any projects that contained that template be impacted? Thanks!

Templates can be hidden from your users by changing the sharing. WHen in the template, click Template Actions then SHARING and select how you want it shared out. To hide it in the list of MyTemplates, you'll need to adjust your filter. One way of doing this is assigning the template to a specific group (we use "Obsolete") then filter active templates where the group <> obsolete.

We just renamed old templates to start with "z - " so they would be moved to the bottom of the template list, and we PMs know not to use them. Figured this was the safest approach! Hi Marty, if you hide those templates from others, does it affect existing in progress projects that use one of the newly hidden templates?
