Fun ideas for ongoing Workfront Education

I'm looking for Workfront admin who have fun ideas RE: ongoing WF education. I'm trying to workshop some myself to get our creative team more jazzed about being diligent WF users, but then I thought the community might have something better. Here’s what I was throwing around: WORKFRONT POP QUIZ: First person to answer correctly wins a Starbucks gift card! Q: What’s the name of the tool that WorkFront uses for inline proofing?? A: ProofHQ (And other basic questions like this.) -or- WORKFRONT POP-UP CONTEST: Screenshot your WF browser screen- the creative team member with the FEWEST unread notifications wins a Starbucks gift card! (This was me trying to come up with a way to reward designers who actually keep up with their notifications, but then I remembered that you can click “Mark all as seen” at any given time and go down to 0, so I had to toss this idea out..) And then of course, there’s Lunch and Learns… Because everybody loves a free lunch. I realize this may not be something a lot of folks have tried, but I thought it couldn’t hurt to ask! :)

Just shared the Pop Quiz this morning in our new PAWS Surgery Yammer group! Top five scores win a Lion Bar! I've been trying to grow engagement since we started it 3 weeks ago and this came at the perfect time. Thanks SO much for putting this together!

About a year back, I conducted a new user bootcamp, which was basically a single project with a group of predefined tasks assigned to the users. The list was about 10 task per user, and contained items such as: Reassign this task to a person sitting near you and mark complete Post an update to this task and mark it as complete Schedule time off in your profile Upload a profile picture Attach a document to this task etc. As an instructor, I had a task report where I could refresh the bar chart as the course went on to see who had finished, who had started and who was struggling. It went very well and I was able to train up about 150 users in two days, with each session only lasting an hour. It's a good way to get users to learn the basics of navigating around the tool and using the features you want them to learn. This wasn't an idea of my own. Steve Cappellucci at Workfront shared it with me a couple of years back.

I've created a Workfront "Quick Tips" that I pass out to everyone after training them on the system. It's a branded quick 6 step list to help them feel confident when submitting a request. It's fairly simple from an admin's POV but from a first time user or someone who only submits work to us once every few months, it's a nice reminder. It includes things like... Plan ahead! Remember to tag! And points them to the right form to fill out. We haven't had a problem with adoption around here, but I know the more support documentation we can provide, the more people use the solution correctly :)

Very cool, Narayan. In a similar fashion, we created our "http://store.atappstore.com/product/user-adoption">UserWatch solution to gamefy this type of User setup (and monitor buy-in). When we first launched Workfront (a little over a year ago), we held several Q&A's and brought treats for participation and sharing "did you know?"s with everyone. We're a big and globally based group, so now our admin team welcomes "did you know?"s or tips & tricks, and then we share them on our group site. People like sharing ideas!

We do a monthly Q&A Session in my current business unit. In my old business unit, we had weekly "Office Hours" - admins would be in a conference room working (doing thier "regular job") but be there for any drop-in questions. I'm trying to implement it here in my new business unit, but staffing is an issue. :) Instead of structured contests, I have been giving random "presents". An AVP went in and processed an approval, including adding some comments in the update while remembering to tag the appropriate people - all WITHOUT any questions or guidance. I made a big deal of presenting my Workfront sunglasses to him as a prize. I'm gathering more WF stuff to give away randomly...

Wow, there are a lot of fun ideas here. We have something way more basic. We setup a WF template, and open a project with multiple WF training tasks assigned. Then the employee must complete all the training .. and make updates and mark as complete .. in WF.
