Workfront - Report for Timesheets & Templates

I am trying to compare data on average time spent for all projects tied to a template.

 

Does anyone know how to run a report based on template and all projects with time, by task, associated with that template?

You should be able to run an hour report and filter it by project template and pull in the "source" which would be where the time was logged (aka the project, task, or issue).
