Edit fields in program report with advanced settings

Hi! I recently made change to a report using advanced settings, but that change stops me from being able to edit the field I updated in the report.

For more detail, I had a program report with about 10 different columns of data. In one of the columns, I used advanced settings to set up an "if-then" statement that adds the text "Not Needed" to one of the columns if certain criteria are met. This feature was great! but then we realized we could not edit and fields in the column where I added the "if-then" statement even if there was no "not needed" text in there.

Does anyone know if there is a way to use advanced reporting and still be able to edit fields withing a report? 

Also, for context we could edit the field before I applied the advanced setting. Thank you!

Hi there, are you trying to edit field in-line within the report? If so, you can only do that for the same object of the report. So in a program report you can only edit program-related information in-line in that report. If you're trying to edit project info, you'll want to pull that into a project report to have an easier time editing project info.

Hi! Yes it is a program report and we are editing program fields. We are able to edit the fields but once we add in column rules through the advanced options we are no longer able to edit in the report. It sounds like this is just a thing in Workfront we will have to work around.

sounds like by using the "advanced reporting" I assume you went with a valueexpression. And this changes the fundamental quality of the column to be not editable. I'd suggest you just include a second column, that is editable, right beside the not needed column, and change the value expression so that it only displays blank or "not needed". Depending on your conditions, if it is simple enough you could also try conditional formatting, so for example, lights up in green if needed, and lights up in red if not needed.
