When a project is In Progress and a task assignment is reassigned from one person to another, should the new assignee receive an email notification they were assigned to a new task?
We assumed that there would be a notification, but finding that is not always the true.

If a project is in an Active/Current status and a task assignment is made, a user should receive an email notification if the notification for "I get a new work request" is activated at the global level (within Setup) and the assigned user has that notification enabled and set to instant in their personal profile. If that's the case and the user still is not receiving an email notification, I'd recommend submitting a case into Customer Support and they can help troubleshoot!
Keep in mind if you assigned a task to yourself, you will not receive an email notification!
