Bulk remove unassigned roles in tasks on project

Our project templates have multiple job roles assigned to one task. Once we are done assigning people to the project we want to bulk remove all unassigned job roles so that it doesn't affect the Workload balancer. Meaning a task has 6 different job roles that COULD be assigned, but we only need one of those 6 folks working on it and we don't want the planned hours to still be dividing the task by 6 people. Is there a way to bulk remove all unassigned roles?

More context:

We have multiple levels of people doing the same type of work but at greatly varying salaries. (designer 1, designer 2, designer 3 etc) so rather than make their profiles have split job roles we want to have the templates be able to have ANY level working on it, but then just throw out whats not being used once the project is set up.

Interesting challenge Miranda,

I'm not aware of a way to un-bulk update in the manner you seek, but you could use our UberCalc solution (or Fusion, if you have it) instead.

Alternatively, you might consider testing different Duration Types (e.g. Calculated Assignment vs Effort Driven vs Calculated Work vs Simple) to see if one of them is a better fit for your current workflow (e.g. doesn't divide the task's work by 6) so the Workload balancer is then more useful.
