Revamp Timesheet Section UI

Right now, if you click "Timesheet" in the navigation menu, you will enter your current timesheet by default, but it is not obvious where the rest of the previous timesheets live.

"Back to Timesheets" is not obvious, and the extra step doesn't make a lot of sense if you are a timesheet approver or plan on submitting last week's timesheet on Monday.

Please revamp the interface for the Timesheet area to be more navigable and user friendly.

Agreed. I'd love to see the following UI enhancements.

1. A similar tab structure to what's available on the rest of the pages. A tab for current week, a tab for timesheet list, a tab for timesheet approvals (for those who need to approve timesheets) and a tab for the All Timesheets administrative search.

2. Visual enhancement on the timesheet itself, subtly highlighting every 3rd row (or something similar) so that the user has a clear visual line to follow to make sure they're logging time to the correct item on their timesheet. We have a large list of general hours and some projects with multiple tasks that will be running concurrently and have some users assigned to multiples. This would help them track and get time added appropriately.

3. The ability to add custom "general hours" groupings. I'd like to be able to rename "general hours" to something else. I'd like to be able to add additional sections like that. We have a large general hours area currently that would be better served broken up.

This causes a lot of confusion for my users. Back To Timesheets is not the intuitive choice for finding past timesheets or searching on timesheets.

Users feel like they are already on their timesheets. Back To Timesheets implies it's going to take them back to where they already are.

My team has the same use case as David Gutzmann's bullet point #2.

As well, I'd like users to be able to navigate to the next or previous timesheet directly from their current timesheet. I recommend adding arrows in the highlighted boxes in the attached image.

I get not too infrequent queries from users about how they go back to their existing timesheets -- I have to tell them to "click on the tiny 'Back to Timesheets' link at the top". Can this link be rendered in a slightly bigger font please?

Agreed. We also have executives who would like to audit timesheets but would never log their time in Workfront. I would like to set their Layout so that by default when they go to Timesheets they get the search, not their own sheet.

UI button placement, navigation without logic and designed-in blank screens are a few of the design features that make time sheets primitive at best.

Yes - need navigation!

Yes - need every other line to be shaded or something so you can clearly see what row you are in

The new Interface in BETA has even MORE space between the name of the task and the boxes where you put the time-- this needs to be adjustable so you can shrink it down & for god's sake, make it readable with shading, LOL.

Also, how about an automatically populating Overtime box? Anything above 40 automatically goes in there for easy tracking.

Timesheets only allow you to enter time at a daily level. Timesheets should support entering time at a weekly or monthly granularity.

Some teams time is tracked on a monthly basis and team members are asked to enter time weekly or monthly depending on their team within CorpNet.

It would be great for timesheets to allow the user to toggle between daily, weekly and monthly time entry options.
