Edit task dates on Scheduling tool

On the newish scheduling tool, you can click the drop down arrow to pop out the tile that shows some info on the task, where you can adjust allocation hours. It would be nice to be able to change the start or completion date (depending on the scheduling setting) so that we can essentially move the task left or right on the timeline in a controlled way. This would help us drop a task into an open slot on a designer's schedule.

Please make this a setting the system admins can turn off. For us, the PMs do not want the resource managers moving dates. If no one is free to work that time frame, a freelancer needs to be hired. Clients don't let us change delivery dates based on resource availability.

We have the same use case as David, in our case the Resource Manager is the PM so it makes a lot of sense and the new scheduling tool is to much better than the other tools the PM has for initially scheduling projects. We constantly have projects that get put on hold by clients and have to be rescheduled.

Absolutely this is needed! In support of Anthony, it should only be enabled for people who are listed as resource managers of the project. Organisations that have team leaders control the schedule can include team leads in their template as resource managers. Those that give PM's absolute control can only include the PM (and/or Project Office) as resource managers.

Please implement this. This would probably be restricted if the task dates forces the project planned completion date to be late.

Great idea, to add on this, If a task is completed early, the date should shift and be updated in both the scheduling tool and the project schedule.

This would provide real time and up to date info. Also this would assist with accurately scheduling resources.
