Drag and drop functionality for scheduling

When needing to make regular changes within scheduling / team views the ability to be able to drag and drop a task where ever you need to would save so much administration time - i.e. left and right to different dates, not just to other users.

With this the ability to 'edit' the duration from within this view as well would be really useful. I have used this functionality in other tools and it is a life saver when you are moving tasks around on a regular basis.

I wouldn't might this on the scheduling tool in the project's Staffing tab, and MAYBE on the global scheduling tool with the RMs. But I wouldn't want this on the Team Working On calendar. We had this in the legacy Team Working On and it caused so many problems. Team Members were moving tasks around all the time and it was recalculating the project, causing mass notifications, and messing up dates for client deliverables. Regular team members don't understand the impact moving tasks around can cause.

based on using other tools, my thoughts were that you could dictate who could use this feature i.e. Planners only or access driven by individual, then it can be used by businesses however suits their way of working - totally agree not a free for all!

The current scheduling tool isn't as useful as it could be due to this limitation. A scheduling tool should have the ability to adjust the schedule, not just view it. My team has to manually go into each task to adjust the dates, but why not allow the dates to be changes within the Scheduling tool as long as they are within the bounds of the project planned dates? It would work similar to how you edit task dates in the task list, which would change the task constraints to "Fixed Dates" or "Must Finish On', etc. It is probably good to also show the Task Constraint in the scheduling tool... and actual hours ;)
