Custom Form for Billing Record

We need the ability to attach a custom form to a billing record.

Use case: some of our projects have multiple billing records. On a single project, one billing record might be billed to department #12345. The 2nd billing record will be billed to department #67890. When sending the exported excel file to finance, we need the department number to be accurate. Currently we have to pull in that field from the project level, which can only have one value and we have to manually change it to the correct one after exporting.

Use case: We had a client with 7 different billing scenarios. The billing record, as is, accommodated two of the 7 - we had to devise various ways to manage the other 5. Having a custom form attached to the billing record would have been a huge help. For other clients, we've seen the same use case above too - a project has to be billed to multiple departments. There's also a need to track monthly or quarterly billings, in the scenario when a project takes up to a year to complete - they can't wait and only bill at the end.

We definitely need this! We have decided to repurpose 'Expenses' for revenue forecasting at a project level because it allows for custom forms. One primary use case for us is: we need to estimate revenue for sales & marketing campaigns, and much of our revenue comes from billing based on account or user volumes, which shift month to month. We do not bill by task or hours. Further, we need to track projected and actual results of the campaign, which means we need two things - one space to add estimated # new enrollments/etc. x estimated volumes for the month, and another for the actuals. Maybe Billing isn't the right place for this, but it seems the most logical place so far, especially compared to using Expenses.

Another use case for us is for contested bills or (partial) refunds. Instead of changing the original billing entry it would be great to flag a separate entry for the refund.

We need this too! Our Finance team are wanting to find out when a billing record date is moved, and if it was, why was it moved (if we could add a note, they would have the information right then and there). There doesn't seem to be anywhere we can store this information against a current billing record.

Another reason for a custom form it to allow foreign currency billing amounts to be captured as well as conversion back to local currency
