Yes this would be great! You can set the status if the object is rejected, but if approved then nothing happens. We have an "Approved" status and it would be great is the status changed to Approved when the object is approved. This would also notify the primary contact since there is a status change - would keep user informed.
I asked for this long before the idea exchange and was told it was going to be "looked into." But it's never been mentioned again. It just seems like a no-brainer. Let's rally some votes!
Yes! Along with that (similar but not the same)...have any of you come across any ideas that would use the milestone path to auto-update the project status? Part of the milestone path is the review stage, I use the milestone path for template optimization as well, and there are a plethora of reports that could be simplified/streamlined if there could be alignment with the project status/milestone paths.
Hi, what Matt May described described in his post above is exactly what I'm looking for as well. Seems like common sense that the option to change the Status based on approval of a step should be included for any approval workflow solution.
Thank you again for the idea and for upvoting on it.
We fully understand the use case for this, but unfortunately the current implementation of approvals doesn't allow us to make this change easily and will require full restructuring of the approvals in Workfront. Since the latter isn't planned for the upcoming 12 months, I will mark this as "Not Planned".
