Can we please add a search function to the "Reports" and "Dashboards" page? Currently I keep having to export them to then search in Excel. In addition to this, the user experience for moving Reports and Dashboards in to the folders is very painful.

Why is this feature important to you - it is very inefficient, i keep creating a new report that i didn't need to, because another one that met the needs existed but i wasn't able to search properly, i can't find it. Also, the user experience for organizing and moving the reports/dashboards into folders, really sucks. I can't ever get the report to move into the folder, i have WAY too many to sort through to do this one at a time, especially when it seems like you have to click in one exact spot to be able to move those.

How would you like the feature to work - put a magnifying glass/search section, like you have everywhere else.

Current Behaviour - really poor user experience. I have to export then open the excel file to sort/filter/search and then go back to workfront.

If I can recommend a workaround while they are hopefully implementing this like they have everywhere else in the tool.

As an admin I have "Report" Report that I use for all my reporting needs. This at least helps me with the searching aspect.

Hi @KellieGardner - thanks for that suggestion! Can you please elaborate on that? What report did you create and how do you use it to help with searching the list of all Reports you have in your instance?

Thanks!!

@NabilMo1  -

It's a report report. Add a filter if you want for how ever is best for you or someone using the report. Add the columns you'd want to see - similar to the view in your reporting area. Once the report generates you'll get the quick filter option you can use to search the reports in your system based on what is visible on the report.

Ahh! A reports, report! Thank you for that. I'm going to give it a try too. Thanks again!!

Update: at first I was a little confused how a report that shows all the reports in the tool was going to be different than the out of the box view Workfront provides, but that extra filter ability, while not perfect (I wish it would filter only the Name column, not the name and description), was very helpful.

Thanks again for the workaround! Looking forward to hopefully being able to search straight out of the Reports Section in Workfront too.
