Issue with Converting Objects with Templates

Avatar

Level 4

When converting an issue into a project with a specified template, I've noticed that certain settings aren't being pulled in.

  • Template didn't use the correct Schedule Mode type
  • Program didn't assign even though it's listed on template

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before?

I have created a module to update the project after the fact but I would rather not have to do this every time something doesn't pull over.

Which module are you using? If you are using the Convert Object module I recommend using the "Misc Action" convert instead.

Try using the module "Misc Action" -> "Record Type: Issue" -> "Action: Convert to Project"

@Lawson02 Yes I'm using the Convert Object module, I will try what you suggested. Thank you!

@Lawson02 Seems like a lot to map out when the template in Workfront has everything I already need on it.

Is there not a way for when the project is converted to keep all the values of my custom forms & project overview that I have saved on the template?

There is a box to copy custom data, right above the mapping section. Then you can map the things you want to change and the templateID
