Hi WF Fusion Community,
Does anyone have a recommended approach for the most efficient way to import new tasks that have predecessors?
Also, if the external project management systems I'm exporting projects and tasks from doesn't assign a number for task order, does this kind of screw me over for attempting to ensure tasks are in the correct order when imported to Workfront?
Thanks!
Nick

I would keep each of the external task's internal IDs or identifier in some sort of variable and check if each one has a parent or a child then use that for WF. For the second part there has to be some sort of identifier that tracks the order of tasks or else the external software would show a random list each time the page is reloaded. Find that and use a sort on the list of tasks to determine their order.
If you would like more help you would need to provide more context/information and/or screenshots.
Thanks, @Lawson02 for the idea.
I'm waiting to find out what the data looks like from the external system to see if there are identifiers for task relationships and order.
