21.1 Product Release: Have you seen the New request submission flow in the New Workfront Experience?

What is updated?

• The new Submitted requests lists is introduced to replace Requests I've Submitted and All Requests sections. The standardised list experience with quick search and filtering ability will help find the requests easier and faster.
• The New request submission button has come to replace the separate New section on the secondary navigation. With the button being located on the header, users can access it from any section in the Requests area.

When is this update coming to production?

Both the New request submission and Submitted requests are coming to Production with 21.1 release.

Since we consider it to be a best practice to first show the all the data fields, then the document upload, we would like the "After custom forms" to stay the default value.

I do understand the default document location change will require you to update the setting on your existing request queues and I apologise for creating extra work for you. I do hope the ability to configure the location of the document will help you re-visit your current setup and see if in fact the new setting works better in particular workflows. That will also give us more feedback on what the future of the request page configuration should look like.

It won't, because the last questions on the form are conformations, a sort of sign-off, that certain actions have been performed. One of those is "Have you uploaded the brief?" which makes no sense if the user has not gotten that far yet.

"Did you uploaded the brief above?" makes more sense than "Did you uploaded the brief below?"

Hi All,

I would like to summarise the improvements we have added to the new request submission experience based on your feedback. The changes are currently available in Preview environment with couple of others still to be delivered in the upcoming couple of weeks.

• You can now control the Document location on the request form. The default option is going to be "After custom forms" but if your workflow requires the document upload to be at the beginning of the request form, as it used to be, you can configure that from the Queue Details. The setting is available only when working in the Queue Details in NWE and is going affect the New request submission form and the new issue creation form in the NWE.
• We moved the Submit/Discard buttons back to the bottom of the page to not force the user to go back to the beginning of the form after filling out the data.
• We added back the ability to see the description of the request queues as well as topics
• The problem of the long custom field names being truncated is also addressed not only on the new request form but elsewhere in the application
• For the Submitted requests list, we have introduced the Summary side panel which will allow to see more information about the request, such as assignments, status, some custom data (configured via layout templates). Users can also see and add comments without navigating away from the list.

Some other data display issues that have been reported are being worked on.

I am glad we were able to address the main pain points that were raised!

This functionality is currently planned to go out with 21.2 release which is currently planned for mid May. Stay tuned for additional updates through announcement center in Workfront.
