Re: Unexpected behavior with dashboards - Workfront Archived Groups 03-03-2020
I am avoiding the new experience for as long as I can. In the past, I've been an early adopter for new features, within Workfront and elsewhere. This unnecessary UI jumble has shaken my confidence in the product and the company. It is no more intuitive than the UI it is replacing. It increases the number of clicks for several everyday tasks. It introduces new constraints, performance issues, and glitches. Corey Young Dayton Children's Hospital

Re: Sharing a mystery - about sharing - Workfront 16-01-2020
Good thought! Wrong! But good. It made sense, but all the parties in question have the same home group. Interestingly, the admins are members of more groups than the non-admins, but still the sharing differs. Also, the groups with which the resulting project is shared don't seem to correlate to the memberships of the people making the projects. I'm now looking at the template to see if it was copied from a project or template with the broader sharing. I still don't get why a project created by a...

Sharing a mystery - about sharing - Workfront 16-01-2020
I'd reach out to support about this one, but I suspect that I'm overlooking something silly. Two people execute the same steps, but we get very different outcomes. Specifically, when I (a system administrator) create a new project from TemplateX, it is shared with one small group. When another person (Plan license, but not an admin) creates a project using the same template, it's shared with half the groups in the company. Both projects are created in the same portfolio, so it's not portfolio-le...

More screen refreshes required - Workfront Archived Groups 19-09-2019
The new experience seems to require a lot more screen refreshes than before. The most obvious one is after editing a report or dashboard. You make changes, close the editor, then you're presented with the report/dashboard as it appeared before you made the changes. You have to refresh the screen in order to see the result of your edit. That's more complicated - not a better experience. Corey Young Dayton Children's Hospital

Unexpected behavior with dashboards - Workfront Archived Groups 19-09-2019
I've been working with the new experience for several weeks now. I'm finding some odd behaviors with dashboards - specifically dashboards that are added as tabs to projects. We often use dashboards on projects because when you do so, the results for all the reports on the dashboards are filtered to the current project. This is a powerful feature. We use this to make project meeting dashboards. During a meeting, we call up the project, navigate to its meeting dashboard tab, then use the informati...

Re: Trending feedback for the new Workfront experience Beta - September 13th 2019 - Workfront Archived Groups 19-09-2019
I've been submitting a number of such problems using the help button at the lower right. Oddly, today, that button isn't working. I tried clicking the help link in the grid of options at the upper right, but I got an error page from force.com. Corey Young Dayton Children's Hospital

"Work On It" button doesn't mean what you think it means - Workfront 07-03-2019
When inexperienced Workfront users see the "Work On It" button, they reasonably assume that clicking it means that they're going to start working on the assignment at that moment. They might also assume that it changes the assignment status to "In Progress". Of course, both of these assumptions are incorrect. The button really means "I'm on it" or "This one is mine". Under the hood, it sets you as an assignee for the task, and it sets the Commit Date to the Planned Completion Date. That's all. I...
