Re: Popup ads? - Workfront 12-10-2021
For those having the same knee-jerk response I just had, please let's collectively resist the urge to shoot the messenger on this one. Thank you @Kyna Baker - inactive‚ for giving us each a solution for our orgs, I've filed a support ticket just now - case # 00281227. When you have a chance to share feedback you received on this post with your team, please share that the appropriate number of times to interrupt our workflow with unsolicited advertising in any six month period is 0. I have also d...

Re: Popup ads? - Workfront 11-10-2021
For us, I've put all future plans for customer use of Workfront on permanent hiatus until this is resolved. Spamming my internal users with pop-up ads is bad enough, but I absolutely will not risk a customer being upset by it. At this point I won't even demo it as something coming in the future. This is not freeware from a sketchy BBS, it is enterprise software and this behavior is downright embarrassing.

Re: Is there a way to update object sharing with Fusion 2.0? - Workfront Fusion 2.0 19-08-2021
I haven't explicitly selected an API version, though if I check Advanced Settings to see that info, it seems to indicate it's using API 11? Give that a try and see if it works for you. If not, can you show screenshots of your setup?

Re: Is there a way to update object sharing with Fusion 2.0? - Workfront Fusion 2.0 19-08-2021
Hi Kato, Yes, you can use Fusion to trigger updates to an object's security settings. The two screenshots below show a sample from our environment that trigger the automatic update of the Sharing settings on the Portfolio object to grant Manage to a particular Group. The query string below contains: The ID of the portfolio record to be updated (in our use-case, an earlier module in this scenario auto-creates that Portfolio object)The new security setting needed (Manage, Contribute)What kind of o...

Re: What timezone will show for task due dates on a project with people in locations across the US? - Workfront 07-08-2021
Hi Shannon, If a PM in California assigns a task to be due at 5pm PST, the Colorado designer will see it due at 6pm MST on their dashboards. Careful nuance here though - the time-zone in their profile affects only certain things, for others Workfront will use the local/timezone of the browser/system instead so it can make for really frustrating troubleshooting. https://one.workfront.com/s/document-item?bundleId=the-new-workfront-experience&topicId=Content%2FReports_and_Dashboards%2FReports%2FCre...

Re: Can I hide or move built in reports? - Workfront 22-07-2021
I came up with the same solution as Skye, I've got a 'DMD Created' filter that's simply my default. I do wish there were a way to make them truly go away though, maybe in the future those will be more like blueprints where we can install the ones that are relevant to the functionality we use rather than the entire kitchen sink. Re: If I rename a custom form, does it affect anything? - Workfront 22-07-2021
I would take a look at your existing reporting, view/filters etc. On the off chance that someone has a setup where it's matching 'show me these results where the custom form name contains', your renaming may result in errors in those reports. For a custom form, that would be an unusual way to filter but it's certainly possible. Similarly if you have any integrations (Fusion etc.) that might have that kind of matching. Other than that, I'd do a text search to see if that custom form's name is men...

Re: How can I add a new department to our Workfront instance, but keep the global search results specific to the relevant department (so the two departments don't get results that don't apply to them)? - Workfront 19-07-2021
Hi Cathy, What you're describing is definitely possible, and a type of sharing security that Workfront is designed to handle. It will definitely take some careful design at the outset, and may require some rework on how your processes are designed for the Marketing team depending on how they were initially set-up. Sharing within Workfront can be controlled by Company, Group, Team, Role and individual person across all objects (templates, queues, reports etc.) Taking the Template object as an exa...

Re: Linking Issues to Portfolios Via Custom Form Field? - Workfront 16-07-2021
Hi Bill, Yeah, that's what I'm running into. I was hoping for a clever way to trick it, or somehow make the Portfolio see the Issue as belonging to it but I've had no luck thus far. The only viable option I'd come up with involved creating a Project under each Portfolio that did nothing but house completed Issues once they were closed out, with the idea of using Fusion to catch the closure and auto-transfer from the queue to the holding project. That seems like way over-engineering though, and w...

Re: Add functionality to the templates in the setup area to automatically allow access to the request when converting to projects. - Workfront 16-07-2021
Hi Heather, I think this is an option in the Setup area under Tasks & Issues, unless I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to do? Primary Contact is typically the submitter of the request, though I suppose it is possible to designate someone else if your request queues are set-up that way. It's also possible to configure it to behave that way for only certain Groups, so it would be possible to be creatively selective about when it would occur if you didn't want it to be a global setting.
