The only way I know of to do this is with a project kickstart. Are they using a template, or will there be unique tasks for each project?

Not sure if it helps, but I have a dashboard report where I add the Shared With column. This shows which layout template(s) the dashboard is included on.

D stands for Distinct. So in the grouping, if there are 8 hour entries it will show 1 (project) instead of 8. I use the project reference field since that is unique to each project.
