I am glad that you have had a chance to play around with it and thanks
for sharing your experiences and feedback. Just a couple comments: Right
now when you skip a level of what is in your filter vs what is in your
table it does break and show no available data. For now you just include
portfolio in the table and that should address it, but we do have
engineering looking into it. Tami is correct that we did initially copy
over the data from your instance, but we have seen a few reports of
You are correct that if we support bubble than we can support scatter by
simply omitting the third dimension for size. I really like the
suggestion for the marimekko chart and will need to add it to the list
of ones that evaluate supporting in the future. Thanks!
Thank you for asking the question about chart types that are available
in Reporting Canvas. As part of the Beta we support: Bar, Column, Pie
and KPI. We will continue to evaluate and build out other chart types
focusing on the following: Line, Bubble, Gauge, Gantt, Milestone and
Sankey. In addition we will allow for customizing the style of the
chart, meaning custom colors, legends, axis labels, control lines and
more. Below is an example of what you can do today with the Beta. Is
there a certai...
Hi all, I am in full agreement with the reporting philosophy of fewer
reports. In my mind this helps to not only reduce the the number of
reports to create, but also to maintain. In Reporting Canvas we plan to
continue to support filters, views and groups to ensure you are always
able to get at the right grain of data to make business decisions. In
addition we will be adding functionality like Canvas filtering, which
acts almost like a Dashboard level prompt, which should even further
Thanks for tagging me @Doug Den Hoed‚ . With Reporting Canvas we have
built the PDF export functionality to generate a PDF of exactly what is
seen on the screen, from visualizations to tables to rich text fields.
You will now be able to send exactly what is on the screen.
Thanks for tagging me Jeremy great idea. This kind of report would fit
nicely into our templates/Blueprints lite section of reporting that we
are going to be building out. Thanks for sharing your use case Cathy!
We did update this a while ago to default to 2,000 rows,
That being said as we update Reporting I am curious what the reason
behind wanting to see more rows at once is, is it because the count
number changes depending on the number of rows?
This is a fantastic idea @Pavlin Panayotov‚ and @Doug Den Hoed‚! Having
the ability to toggle on line numbers for rows in a table seems like a
great feature to incorporate in the new reporting experience. @Pavlin
Panayotov‚ do you mind scheduling some time with me to make sure I have
fully captured your idea and then talk about possible ways to implement
it https://calendly.com/matt-thomas-wf/30min. Thanks!
@Doug Den Hoed‚ You are exactly correct the rule set feature in New
Reporting Experience would make it so you do not have to repeat the top
criteria and also make it easier to "read" what the filter is actually
doing. Thanks for another clear example of why this functionality is
I agree, new Reporting can not get here soon enough! We definitely see
the need for providing more information for each report when you are
viewing it. Information like what it is filtered on, regardless of if
that is a table filter, prompt or page filter, all of that information
should be at their finger tips.
