What is the basic report you're referring to? Are you using a proof approval report? You shouldn't have to dig into a project to have a report showing just proofs for review so I'm wondering if you're trying to use something other than a proof approval report.

Yeah, I tend to avoid bubble charts for this reason - when you have too much data, or any overlapping data, the UI isn't the best. I stick to bar charts (most often with an additional stacked or side-by-side grouping).
