In this case, since you want to add tasks from a template, you can use the Misc Action. It would look something like this: trigger the issue conversion, search for the right template, and map it to the project. You can modify this to suit your needs.
Currently, one can add a new column to view the report type. The first option in the fields menu is the report type. This is just a workaround, it would be nice to display this directly somewhere.
