Do you by any chance have any accessibility software running at the same time you are using the pdf? I ask because my accessibility software causes a blinking cursor when using any pdf.

I have a form that multiplies the number of items by $6.07 but I need the total to round up to the nearest dollar. I have formatted the total field to be integer and selected integer in the binding tab, which works to drop the cents out of the total but that doesn't help it round up. I suspect a script is needed to accomplish this. How do I write this script? Thanks for your help.

Thank you for that solutution. I am going to try it tomorrow and see if it works. If I need help with the scripting, I'll let you know, which I probably will because I haven't had any training in writing script. Is there a way to limit the number of copies that can be printed of a pdf from inside the form in LiveCycle? I would like clients to only be able to print only two copies of a form with Adobe Reader. How can I do this?

I know this subject was kicked around for 9 pages over the last two years but I couldn't figure out an answer from all the responses.I have an employee form that I want to lock the information when the form is submitted thru an email button but I still want the supervisor to be able to apply a digital signature to the form. I tried wrapping the fields in a subform and then disabling the subform post submit. That hasn't worked. Please help.

Could you please just write the script here so those of us who need it could just type it in our button. I have the same need but rather than email everyone who wants it, it would be easier to just copy and paste it right here. Please?

And if you could please take a look at the 458SPA that's also published. That's the one with the scripting problem where I don't want the fields to show a negative number. If the result of subtracting the Asset Disregards from the Total Assets creates a negative number, show a zero in that calculated field below it. We've tried several suggestions but it still didn't work.I'm really good at showing zeros in text fields where people are supposed to type their names.....LOLThanks for any help you ...

I don't enter any information into the Tooltip or Custom Screen reader text windows unless the fields caption isn't explanitory enough to convey what is supposed to be entered into the field. Then I use the Custom Reader Text window because by default CustomText is what's showing. I noticed that with Tool tip it did seem to be reading the label and then what I had typed in so it was basically reading it twice when I saved the form as a static pdf. When I save it as a dynamic pdf and have text in...

Please tell me how to post this form so you will be able to look at it and see why these two fields are expecting an integer. I even tried removing the fields and pasting in the ones that work and yet when I open it in Acrobat, a zero still appears in the fields. I can't finish this form until these issues are resolved so please help.

I have a contract that can be signed by four different departments with multiple people able to sign. I have used a text field where the signer can enter their name and have that name appear under the signature line, with their title. I use the Actions Builder menu under tools to create an action where is one checkbox is checked, the other is unchecked and vice versa. I think the action builder is new to this version of LiveCycle and that's why I asked you which version you had. Everyone seems to really like writing script to program things but this version of LiveCycle has done alot of that for you.Let me know if you have the action builder and then I can give you more directions for how to make those actions.

I can't answer that. Maybe someone more familiar with Acrobat can tell you that. I just don't use Acrobat to tag any forms made with LiveCycle. LiveCycle generates it's own tags, from what I understand. Sorry I can't help more. Good luck tho. I'll be watching to see if anyone has this answer.

No, it's not because it's the demo version. I tried bringing my forms into Acrobat to tag them in the beginning because I was told by my Webmaster that the tags had to be there for the document to be accessible and it turned out just like you describe. It was impossible to tag my forms in Acrobat. So it seems to me that LiveCycle forms really can't be tagged in Acrobat Pro. I don't use Acrobat for anything more than Reader Enabling my forms and I always do that as my last step. LiveCycle forms w...

On a flowable form, you don't have a page2 exactly. You keep putting everything on page1 and it automatically flows to the next page and the next page. Getting rid of an extra page requires looking in the hierarchy and delete everything on that page including the subform which you have to delete last. Sometimes it's really stubborn and I don't know enough about subforms to know why that is but maybe someone else will jump in to tell us both. You'll get a warning telling you that you are trying t...

Yes, that's a problem. I go back after all the text has moved and group things into "positioned" subforms so that I can make the layout as required. So if I know that I'm going to need the form to flow from page to page, I create a template page with a flowed Page1 subform and then I drag in all the objects that I need and then work from the top down to group them into subforms that are positioned the way I want them. Then your items will all move along like little boxes on a conveyor belt. It's...

You have to make the Page1 subform Flowed and select either top to bottom or Western Text as your layout requires.

What impact, if any, will this have on the certification as a LiveCycle Designer? I have been thinking of taking the accredidation test offered thru Adobe. My local training accademy offers LiveCycle classes but for the past couple of months have not been able to locate any instructors for this 9.0 version of LiveCycle. I already teach classes in another subject and was interested in becoming certified to teach LiveCycle. Is the testing still going to be offered?

I just updated my Enterprise Cafe and opened it to find not my beloved little blue LC icon for LiveCycle but this new imposter icon that looks like a doily my grandmother used to have on her cocktail table. Promise me that you are not phasing out LiveCycle. I truly love this program. I love that we are able to make magic happen on our forms. I work for the state and we only use LiveCycle as a forms designer program (at least in my department) and I started with version 7 being given the program ...

Yes, I've had all the same experiences as you. I first started using LiveCycle with version 7. Now THAT was a nightmare. Every time you clicked somewhere, it made that object number one and you'd have to start all over again. I'm so glad they have gotten tabbing to the point that they have and I'm sure that when they hear these complaints on the forums, they try to address the problems in the future. Each version is always improved over the past. I'm looking forward to the next version because t...

Sorry but I'm eavesdropping. How do you make those floating fields in the text and bind them to the input field? I know about global binding and I do use that but I've never made a floating field. And we have alot of forms authors that like to write paragraphs like that:You (blank) dated (blank) has been reviewed by (blank) etc.I've just bee sticking in blank text fields and wrapping the whole paragraph in a positioned subform. Your way looks easier. I'd appreciate any help you can offer.
