I'm sure this is so simple that I'm going to be smacking my forehead when someone gives me the answer but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to do this.I'm making a simple pdf that lists ticket prices for an event. I want the button to add one to the number of tickets ordered every time it's clicked. I need the starting value to be "0" tickets. How do I do this?

This was really helpful to me today because I also wanted to be able to delete a page and kept trying to remove an instance of the page I was trying to delete. So thank you for asking this question and getting me the answer altho I think it didn't help you too much.I remeber when I was new and someone would answer my question and I had no idea what they were talking about. So I'm going to try and help. You can put your button to delete the page on any page. I put mine on each page of an inventory...

I had this happen to me the other day and yes, it is highly frustrating. I don't know if this answer will ultimately help you or not but I was able to fix the problem by restricting the page occurance of the Page1 Master Page to a maximum of "1" and then in Design view, I set the Pagination for the (untitled page1) subform to "On Page1" in the Object Tab and it snapped right where I wanted it. I find solutions for most of the messes I get myself into by trial and error on those subform tabs. I'm...

I just tried this and it worked. Here is how I have my text field formatted. I have it set to allow multiple lines in the Object tab Field. Then I selected "Expand to Fit" in the Height checkbox under the Layout tab. I then saved my form as an "Adobe Dynamic XML Form:" in the Save as Type box. Opened it in both Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro and pasted (Control V) a paragraph of text that I took from a Word (Control C) document. All the text pasted just fine and the box expanded to accept it all.H...

The only way to combine two LiveCycle forms is in Acrobat. There is a button at the top in Arobat Pro that say "Create". Click that and select PDF Portfolio from the bottom of that list. You can then pick how you would like your portfolio to look and work, and then click the "Add Files" button. You can add as many files as you need to. The display can be customized by changing the color themes, importing a background image or map and creating a custom header. The nice thing about a portfolio is ...

In order for the subsequent subforms to move down on the page to accommodate a "flowed" subform above, the parent subform of THAT subform, must be set to "flowed" which means that the subform titled (untitled subform (page 1)) must be set to flowed in order for any other subforms on the page or in the document for that matter, to flow. No matter how many subforms you have or how many pages you end up having, if that page 1 subform is not set to flowed, nothing on the page will flow without stepp...

You could set your date to "auto populate" with today's date and then set the field value to "Read Only". This way the date would be whatever today's date is when the form opens, but the user would not be able to change it. You would auto populate the date by bringing onto your form the date object, going to "Tools", "Action Builder" and creating a new action with the Condition "When form (and select Form1) has finished loading, and choose the Result of "Set the value of "DateTimeField1" to toda...

I have a pdf that I want to password protect. I choose that option under File/Form Properties/Pdf Security. As soon as I click "ok", I find that the document now has extra blank pages. I've tried playing with the sub forms but I can't delete the extra pages. What do I need to do?

I use LiveCycle to create QR codes for use on our printed brochures. We would also like to use these codes on our websites as links to our other websites. How do I export the QR code for use on our Web? The only thing that I see is just placing them in a pdf. Is there a way to export the QR codes?

Thanks. We have a Smart Forms division. I think I'll run it by them and see what they can do. This form would be very helpful to our agency so it's worth the try. I appreciate all your help.

I was going thru some of the posts from the past and came across Assure Dynamics handout about things you can do in Acrobat or Reader with LiveCycle forms. Listed on there in the red section is calling a webservice which cannot be done thru Extending the Reader rights in Acrobat. The form must be submitted thru Reader Extensions which I don't have access to.

I have published a sample Client Letter format form for you. The user types into the fields on the first page. Floating fields on the second page receive that information and sets it into a letter format. When you create your template (and it doesn't have to be saved as a LiveCycle template, I just save mine as a dynamic pdf) I make my "fill-in page" first, carefully naming each field with a unique name. Then I type the paragraph, insert the floating field (on the toolbar under "Insert", name it ...

I don't want to restrict printing by the user unless the fields are filled, I want the subforms that have unfilled fields to not print on the document. I probably didn't explain it well. Let me try again.... I have a form with a visible subform with fill in fields and there is a checkbox in front of the first field. If that checkbox isn't checked and the fields are empty, I don't want that subform to print. Does that make sense?

I had posted this question previously but never received a reply. I'm trying it again because the issue has come up again. Here goes...My agency has published a lengthy document showing the Spanish terms next to the English terms for commonly used words in our documents. I was working thru some exercises and saw one for a Web Service for translation of words from many languages. This would be so much more efficient than what we are currently using.I created the Data connection but the execute bu...

Everything we put on the Internet must be ADA compliant. There was some discussion with previous versions of LiveCycle forms inside a PDF portfolio possibly not being compliant because of the navigation issues inside the portfolio itself. Does anyone know if a pdf portfolio is ADA compliant and compatible with JAWS reader? We have several application forms which are over 20 pages long. They have designed the application as one document with several forms that might be needed by our clients. My th...

You anticipated that I wouldn't know how to script the second button. It prints beautifully, you are a genius. However it does prompt before printing. It says "This document is trying to print. Is this ok? ) ever so politely. I can live with that. Thank you very much.

We have a form with 23 pages, the first 6 pages are instructions. We would like the user to be able to print out these instructions separate from the rest of the document. Then we would like another print button at the bottom of the document to print the remaining pages which are actually an application which needs a signature (17 pages). The current print script is:xfa.host.print(1, "0", (xfa.host.numPages -1).toString(), 0, 0, 0, 0, 0);and it prints the entire document. Thanks for your help.
