Good Morning, GigazelleI am looking to get some clarification related to the trackLocation call.I know that it should be set to fire every time the user launches the app, but I want to understand something:The instructions mention that trackLocation works the same as trackAction. As a result, if we start sending trackLocation on a number of our calls, do we have the option to combine the data fired in our trackAction into trackLocation, or will we now be sending two calls and increasing our cos...

Hey there!Got a logistics question. I don't see any quick documentation about managing Users in the Adobe Analytics related to when we should delete or expire a user and the ramifications of each. With the user migration going on, would it be best to expire all users I’m not going to migrate, or should I just delete them? Thanks in advance!

Gigazelle,Yes, I had thought about the @mention, but I was afraid it might result in getting your inbox filled up. Meanwhile, much appreciated for the Measure Slack link. I will definitely add that to my process. Thanks!

Hello there! The best reason for merging the two into one report suite is the ability to eventually view activity by person instead of unique devices.https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/sc/implement/xdevice_visid.htmlAnother benefit of merging is being able to track a hybrid mobile experience, where the user starts out in your app, is linked from the app to web content and then returns to the mobile app. Currently, two report suites will not allow you to follow the user's flow from o...

Having the ability to add a trigger (e.g., a checkbox) to a forums posting alerting Adobe I'm looking for staff input on one of my questions would be extremely helpful as opposed to me simply tossing a question out into the forum and praying I will hear back from someone within a reasonable amount of time (i.e., within 24 hours). I know about @mention, but it does not appear to include a name in the list that suggests I'm truly including Adobe staff on my question unless I mention one of the few...

Totally makes sense to me. I was actually reviewing the data flows mentioned above yesterday, and your recommendation of using the query string first makes the most sense for our mobile implementation. Thanks for the clarification and same day turnaround!

I'm wanting to understand if there is a difference between the data I can collect for a Marketing Channel related to campaign tracking code. The processing rules allow you to evaluate data coming from a query string parameter (e.g., www.mysite.com?cid=campaignName); or, I can also build my rule based on data in the Tracking Code. Which is the better choice/best practice?

OK. Curious about the justification on that. I'm trying to play devil's advocate around this issue and understanding the "why" as opposed to just what people do will be extremely helpful.

Hoping to get someone from #AdobeStaff to chime in on this as well.To those of you who have been using Adobe Analytics for a LONG time, I was curious to get your feedback on best practice for using more generic events for multiple interactions on a site. For instance, you can view the details of a number of items on a site, like products, articles, recipes, coupons, etc. Of course, we have the prodView event, but we also fire an event for viewing products in order to use those events against oth...

Awesome! If you're looking for pilot users, I'd be happy to provide feedback. Also, assuming this is going to be something different than what you've already put out there in Experience League sites? I will say the material there is not as easy to query as I would have liked. It feels like you really need to know what to query in order to get answers, similar to the Help site, so I'll be curious to see what you're planning to release. Thanks again!

Something I've continued to notice is that the online Adobe Experience Cloud Help documentation suffers from having pages and processes that are either out of date, misleading or even lacking in valuable content or detail. In a social media-influenced community of users, you still have hosted documentation that does not provide Adobe Analytics users or Admins the ability to provide direct feedback or contribute content. If you were to make it possible to crowd source updates on the help pages in...

I wanted to provide some additional clarification about the time it takes for your Marketing Channel Rules to take effect. There are some important caveats you will want to understand around latency and visitor engagement expiration.https://helpx.adobe.com/analytics/kb/marketing-channels-incorrect-first-touch-data.html

The changes are effective as of the time you save them in Adobe Analytics and will fire for all calls coming into the report suite after that time. The one major drawback is that Marketing Channel Rules are not retroactive like Classification Rules, so any data before the date you activate your new Marketing Channel Rules will not be aligned to your channels. Make sense?

Also, if Workspace has disappeared, you may need to ask your company's Adobe Analytics administrator to ensure the user group associated to your profile has a checkmark next to Analysis Workspace Access and Create/Curate Projects in Analysis Workspace on the Analytics Tools portion of the group management page.Hope that helps!Jeff

That depends on your implementation. Both Date (timestamp) and Marketing Cloud Visitor ID information are available in all of your Omniture calls. If you're capturing these values in eVars, you can create a segment based on Visitor (as opposed to Visit or Hit, which won't work) to look for the two specific dates you want. Then, apply that segment to a report containing the user IDs. If you have a different variable containing custom user Ids, this should work as well.Let me know if you need any ...

This is the correct answer. I will have to admit, though, both Marketing Channel Processing Rules and traditional Processing Rules can definitely create some confusion when you're first starting out.

We have a native implementation for our Mobile application containing multiple apps, but they all belong to one report suite: Mobile Prod. In the Manage App Settings section titled Universal Links and App Links Options, it appears I only have the ability to enter the App ID credentials for one iOS app and the SAH256 Cert Fingerprints for one Android app. The interface does not give me the impression I may subsequently provide the appropriate information for the remaining apps coming into Mobile ...

I understand what you're trying to do. You're simply wanting to capture the pageName on your success events. You could actually approach this in one of two ways.If you want to simply add pageName to a trackAction() call without capturing the remainder of your global variables that fire on every page view, you can simply fire the page name value you wish to track within a context value pair. For example: set a.pageName to the value you would prefer to see. When configured correctly, within your d...

With everything changing over to Admin Console for user management within Adobe Analytics, it would be extremely helpful for us to have the ability to include some additional information against our users:A notes section, which would provide a centralized location and an easy documentation process for recording any important notes about a user's role as well as the justification for the role any specific user is given.A way to designate 1 or more individuals as overall lead Administrators for an...

Does anyone have experience with capturing user interactions against 3D touch/quick shortcuts on Mobile apps (Please see the attached images below for context)? I'm not finding anything in the Adobe Analytics Help Documentation that leads me to believe this is something we can easily track, or if it's even possible.

I've seen a similar question in the past (Aobe Admin UI is hopeless and many years' past its best. Will it ever be updated? ), but it appears it was not submitted as an idea afterward. I would like to know if there are any plans to update/change the user interface for the Admin portions of Adobe Analytics anytime soon (and sooner would be VERY much preferred). From the amount of time we have to wait to view a report suite to the drop-down menus for concatenating values in the Processing rules, th...

jhammonsI have a question for you that I couldn't answer for myself after reviewing the documentation. What is the expected latency for when I set up a Marketing Link until it is considered "active" so it will be picked up in reporting? It was anecdotally appearing to me like it could be as long as 24 hours, but I wanted to get an official answer so I can set organizational expectations. Also, do you mind adding tags to your original post so it will come up more prominently in searches? I sure do wish I had come across this post a LOT earlier. jhammons, I would highly recommend placing a link to this information on the Acquisition tab located in Adobe Mobile Services, especially on the Marketing Link Builder. I spent a LOT of time going through the Help documentation on https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/reference/, but when I searched for App Acquisition, I got results that started off with “Mobile App Acquisition” for each platform. Something very annoying to me is the inability to quickly copy a user group to use it as a template to create another group. I don't see anything similar in the Admin Console at this time, either. As a result, I'm requesting the ability to more easily manage Adobe Analytics User Groups by having a Copy or Save As feature to easily duplicate a User Permission Group.
