HI,Are your users completing the forms in Reader or Acrobat? If they are using a Reader to view and complete the forms, then the forms must be enabled in order fo the entered data to be saved along with the form. Otherwise, when the user sends the form back to you, it will be blank. As for the form submit button - that is not going to send a completed form either. It will send the entered data in xml format.I hope this helps....I am light years away from being any kind of expert on this stuff, bu...

I have a table that automatically numbers each added row of data. Unfortunately, if a row is deleted, the numbering is skewed. Here is the script I use: form1.MinutesTable.Row1.Index::initialize - (JavaScript, client)this.rawValue = this.parent.index + 1If anyone knows why this is happening and what I can do to prevent it, I would appreciate the help. Thanks in advance,Jenny

Thanks for your reply! The form is dynamic. I had this question posted on the LiveCycle ES and ES2 forum also and that one generated some interesting possible solutions. In the end, though, I just changed the buttons to checkboxes so I could get on with things. Got a deadline to meet...Thanks again!~Jennifer

Thanks Malcolm.Darn. Too late.I decided to change the buttons to checkboxes on the form because those are easy and consistent and because this form will eventually become a webform and I can have the webform guy use a button instead of a checkbox. I am working on a deadline, too.I am really interested to learn how to use the buttons in the way I was trying to, however, so maybe I can fool around with that method when I am finished with this little project.I REALLY appreciate your time and help!!

Jeanette,Thank you, but that script didn't do the trick on my form. I think the buttons work differently than the checkboxes because I have never had an issue with a checkbox script. I use those all the time.

Thanks all.So Malcolm, I started to follow your instructions, adding the "this", but then I realized that there is no othersubform. Not sure what to do with this, then. Is the fact that the button is on a separate subform the problem?

I want my form users to click on a button to reveal a hidden subform, however, the if/else script that I normally use on other forms to reveal hidden objects and subforms is not working here. Do buttons not support that kind of script? I just don't see what the problem could be otherwise.I'd be more than happy to send the form to anyone who wants to take a look at it.Thanks in advance,Jenny

Does anyone know of a script that will calculate the total of a series of cells in a column (e.g. Auto Sum function in Excel) when the column is part of a dynamiclly growing table? Thanks in advance,Jenny

Okay, I solved my own problem simply by moving the script that controls the checkbox fill color to the beginning of whole line of scripts associated with that checkbox. I have no idea why that worked though, so I still have the knowledge gap. If anyone knows why this worked and cares to share, I would be eternally grateful!~Jenny

I have a check box that, when checked, causes about 3 other things to happen. The last thing to happen is that the check box itself is supposed to fill with color. All works great, except the color remains when the check box is de-selected. I had a similar problem before and was told to add xfa.layout.relayout() to the end of the script, and that worked in that particular instance. However, adding it to this series of scripts, does not make the fill color go away upon de-selection.Here are the s...

Hi,I am using a conditional statement that adds fill color to a check box and a subform field when the check box is checked. The color fills in properly (and upon de-selection, it disappears) as it is supposed to, but on some fields, there is also appearing an unwanted border around the check box. Not only does the border appear, but it fails to disappear upon de-selection. So, my response is, Say What?! Hoping someone can let me know what is going on and how to get rid of the border. Here's the ...

The header row on my dynamic table will repeat when the table overflows onto the second page, but if it flows over to a third or fourth page, the header does not repeat. Why is that? I'll be happy to send the form with the troublesome table via email to someone who can help,Thanks,Jenny

Hi All Alone (that's so sad...)I am using Acrobat Pro, not Designer ES, and I am not sure how those correlate. I will tell you, however, that in Acrobat, you will find the Enabling feature under the Advanced menu item (top menu). You want the "Extend Features in Adobe Reader." After you click, save, and therefore extend, your form fillers will be able to save their completed form.Hope this helps!~Jennifer

I think the issue has to do with a glich in my program because I rebooted my computer and the pagination menus are appearing as they should. This might also be responsible for the non-rendering issue.
