Thanks djaknow; Your tip to find the path works like a charm. It came up with xfa.resolveNode("form1.requester_info.new_req.Table5.Row2.r_new"), NiceI replaced this line withXfa.host.setFocus(form1.requester_info.new_req.Table5.Row2.r_new); I added this to the “click” event for the checkmark object. Believe it or not. This did not work.I then removed this from the “click” event and added it to the “initialize” event. It worked. Now I am way confused. I took a look at the java script console and t...

Good Day All;With help (a lot) from djaknow I was able to the setfocus working on a form I created. Then I went ahead and created more sub forms and tables. It seems that I may have not completly understood the flow for the "Set Focus". Below is the hierarchy of the form I am working on. I would appreciate any help with this. This is the set focus code I am using. xfa.host.setFocus(form1.requester_info.Table3.Table2.Table4.new_req.Table5.Row2.r_new);Form1 Master Pages Page1Requester_info (T+)Hea...

Hello djaknow;Worked like a charm, thank you. I think where I made my first mistake is the initial design of the form (subforms). So thank you for the "2" lessons.I will need to go back over the form and take a look at how I have put the subforms together. Thanks again djaknowChomp

Thanks again djaknow This thingy is starting to drive me a wee bit nuts. I removed (made visible) all of the sub forms and added the code as you described. Did not work. Then I created a new form with 2 sub forms. One for the check box and one for the text box. Inserted your code and again it did not work. I then ran the Java Script debugger and it came up with the form name not known. I took the form name out and ran with the following code;xfa.host.setFocus(subformname.textfieldname); So it lo...

I added the following code (thank you) to the end of the “if” statement. Is there something I am doing wrong? Good day all; This just has to be my lucky week. As some of you might have figured out, I am quite new at using designer……. Anyway, with the help of the people on this forum, I was able to complete a form that got some good reviews. And then it happened. (like it always does). I was asked if I could make the form “flow” or get rid of the “white space”? I have read some of the documentation on this form and have got a few tips, but not been able to get the form to flow. This is what I have done. ...

Thanks for the form Srini Your form work well. I do get a message “This PDF requires a newer version of Adobe Designer ……” I am running Adobe LifeCycle Designer 8.0 ( 8.05.2073.1.37024). Good Afternoon; I am a wee bit confused with the use of the digital signature. This is what I have. I have created a 3 page form that is e-mailed back to me when completed and signed by a manager. I have a place for the manager to add their name and a couple of other items.I added an e-mail button that would address the e-mail to me. Good Day Stephen;Thank you for the information, it was a great help. The other part I was missing was (what I will call) part 2 of the drop down box, . There must be an entry in this list for each item in the drop down box.As you can see I am very new at this and some times what is obvious to others it takes me a bit to figure out. As for your statement “IMHO 73 items is too many for a user”, you are very correct. Once I figured out how to get the dropdowns to work properly, that was the next pa...

Good Day;I have been asked to design a form using Livecycle that will replace an existing MS Word form. The form will be used to grant access to a total of 42 information systems. At first glance this did not seem to be a problem until I stated to design the layout. For the most part the form is more or less straight forward. Where I ran into design problems was with the best way to have the user fill in what systems they were requesting. A user could request anywhere from 1 to 42 of the informa...
