At the moment environments are controlled by JavaScript tag that is deployed. i.e. dev, staging, and production environments have different tags and this determines what code is delivered. However, often we find ourselves wanting to test our development code against the 'live' environment (obviously before publishing to the live environment!).This may be because other environments are not available or because other environments are not fully reflective of the live environment. Please can you consi...

It would be really useful to be able to be able to store a description against each data element and each rule to explain what it is.In Adobe Analytics, the ability to add descriptions to components has become common place so I was a little surprised not to have the ability here. From a workflow/governance/documentation perspective, it would really helpful to be able to store this information. Please can this be considered?

In Adobe Analytics it is possible to prevent users from logging in outside of our corporate IP address range. However, there is no equivalent for Launch; yet the security implications of an unauthorised access to Launch is much greater.Obviously, we could go down the route of setting up single sign on for the whole of the Experience Cloud but this is not an easy process and our requirement is only around Launch where the risks are much higher (i.e. the ability to inject code into our website).Ple...

From a security point of view, it needs to be really clear within the tool who is approving/progressing a library through each of the following steps:Summit for approvalApproved for publishingPublishingAt the moment it is really opaque; Although there is an audit log it's next to impossible to decipher. Also I would expect this information to be available within the area where you are viewing a particularly library which it is not currently (there is an 'activity log' but this just shows the dat...

Our security team would particularly like the system to notify a list of users/email addresses when particular actions are taken (such as publishing), so that if anything unexpected happens people would be aware. The list of people notified should not be in control of the user who is publishing, it should be configured at an admin level for the property.please can this be considered?

Currently, the following roles are available:developapprovepublishI want to be able to stop people approving code that they have developed themselves. However, our team is not big enough that we can afford to have mutually exclusive groups of developers and testers. Therefore, I have to give 'develop' and 'approve' rights to everyone, which mean users can effectively mark their own homework. What I would like is an additional 'approve' permission which only allows a user to 'approve' libraries su...

There seems to be an irony to the fact that Adobe Analytics doesn't provide analytics on how Adobe Analytics is being used As an organisation we have massively bought in to using Workspace to drive the self-service of data/insight throughout our business. As a result we are centrally managing a large quantity of workspace projects, segments, dimensions, calculated metrics for a significant number of Analytics users. In order to manage these effectively with Workspace, we desperately need to be abl...

If a calculated metric is used within another calculated metric, the nested calculated metric does not retain a link to the original. Instead the nested calculated metrics is a copy of the original. This means if the original calculated metric is changed the nested calculated metrics is unaffected.Current behaviour:Caculated metrics 'A' is nested in Calculated 'B'Calculated metric 'B' actually contains a copy Calculated Metric 'A'When the original Calculated Metric 'A' is changed the copy within...

In workspace, only the following 'X days ago' time components are provided 'out of the box':todayyesterday2 days ago3 days agoI know it's possible to create more ('4 days ago' etc.) using the editor. However, it feels like it would have been worth providing at least up to '30 days ago' out of the box to save your customers having to create them (Adobe - you didn't even provide a weeks worth )

When amending a number of related segments, as an admin I will filter the list of segments to the ten or so segments I want to edit. However, as soon as I enter one of the segments to edit it, the segment manager forgets the filter settings so when I return to the segment manager I have to reapply all my filter settings! - This is pretty inefficient. Please could you consider making the segment manager remember the filters that are applied between edits?(the calculated metrics manager would also b...

After experimenting with a workspace project, it is often desirable to discard these changes and return to the previously saved version. However, it isn't as quick to do this as you'd think! You have to either open a different project and then reopen the project you were in or spend a lot of time hitting 'undo'. (simply attempting to reopen the project without going to another project doesn't discard the changes!)In order to avoid us having to continually go in and out of projects, any chance you ...

When using metrics as rows rather than in columns the "percentage" column setting has an unfortunate affect any percentage based metrics...Take the following example:The 'column' percentages (83.9%, 16.1%) for the first 2 volume based metrics are meaningless so we don't want to display them (to reduce confusion among users). However turning off column percentage leaves us with a blank cell for the the final percentage based metric! (see below)This is different to the behaviour in previous Adobe p...

Within the Adobe Analytics tool there are 3 main ways to deal with IP address exclusions:1) Out of the box "Exclude by IP" functionalityThis method can be accessed by going to the global 'Admin' drop down menu and selecting "Exclude by IP". Instructions on how to use this are contained within the page and it is by far the easiest method of removing traffic from specific IP addresses/ranges.However, the disadvantage of this is that any excluded data is effectively lost for ever so this is not sui...

With 'day' based time dimensions we have access to relative periods e.g. today, yesterday, 2 days ago, 3 days ago.I would like to see support added for equivalent hour based time dimensions e.g. last hour, 2 hours ago, 3 hours ago, 4 hours ago etc.An example of typical business request that this would meet would be when something new is launched on our site:"show me a pages report with a columns for 1) visits in the last hour 2) visits in the hour before that 3) total number of visits for today"...

Hi Payal,As I understand it, this isn't possible using processing rules 😞The 'countries' data is created from the IP address during processing that Adobe does post processing rules. So you can't using processing rules to map it to somewhere else because it doesn't exist at point that processing rules can manipulate the data.If this is really important to you, it might be possible for Adobe Engineering to build a VISTA rule to achieve this for you (however, there would definitely be a cost assoc...

How is it possible? The 'next page' is a record of the next page view recorded, which is not limited to the pages directly linked to from the page. For example, a user might use their browser 'back' button to return to another page on your site which would trigger another page view and therefore be recorded as the 'next page'Best tool?I really like the 'site analysis' tool in Ad Hoc Analysis. This is a fantastic tool for looking at paths between 2 points on the site and is the one capability that...

We are making extensive use of virtual report suites to manage the way we share & present data throughout our organisation. However, the lack of support for Data Sources potentially wreaks havoc on our carefully planned virtual report suites strategy. The problem is that every time a user requires access to the data uploaded via data sources (e.g. e-mail sent, opened, bounced etc.) we have to open up access to the underlying report suite completely bypassing our carefully curated virtual report su...

Within our organisation we want to create a clear separation between 1) those developing code 2) those testing/approving code (I'm sure this is a common requirement). As I understand, Adobe Launch attempts to provide this is by having a "developer" role and an "approver" role.Unfortunately, as in many organisations, we (the Digital Analytics Team) are not a large team. Therefore, it is impractical to have people solely dedicated to developing and solely dedicated to testing/approving. This makes ...

Thanks Ben, appreciate you coming back to me 🙂The reason we think this doesn't exist is because we set up a few test alerts with relatively short expiry dates see what happens and we didn't receive any notification when they expired.

Almost everything (e.g. props, evars, segments, metrics etc.) within Adobe Analytics can now have a description added to it... except AlertsIt would be incredibly useful to be able to document the purpose of the Alert within the alert itself. Please can you consider adding a description field to alerts?

Currently, when an alert expires this seems to happen silently. This creates a situation where someone relying on an alert may believe it is still in place but actually it has stopped working. In order to ensure continuity of important alerts, the creator and/or recipients of an alert should be notified when an alert is nearing its expiration date. Please can this be considered?

Totally agree with this. I'd also like to see the same level of audit capability for components such as segments and calculated metrics as again we are created lots but have no idea whether they are being used! http://ideas.omniture.com/t5/Idea-Exchange-for-Adobe/Analysis-Workspace-Improve-Audit-Capa bility/idi-p/16046 Basically we need analytics on the analytics 🙂
