Re: Calculations with numbers stored as text in s.eVar A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
I can see how you could potentially do this using a combination of regex in the classification rule builder and a calculated metric. It's pushing the limits of what is achievable but it might just be do-able... For the sake of explaining the concept let's simplify things by make the (false) assumption that your products range in value from $1 to $999 and are in whole numbers (you'll need to expand the concept to cover other values!). First Stage: classificationscreate 3 classifications, one for ...

Re: Analytics Web services details A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
You can view the actual API credentials for a user by going into the legacy user management area in Adobe Analytics. From the list of users, select a user. The username and shared secret are displayed on the resulting page.

Re: Paid Search Adobe Analytics A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
Sure, we use Virtual Report Suites extensively in our organisation. Within the virtual report suite settings is the ability to curate what components are made available to end users in Analysis Workspace.

Re: Paid Search Adobe Analytics A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
Adobe over the years have had a number of different ways of tracking channels and modelling attribution. This one I believe pre-dates marketing channels. There is no right or wrong answer as to when to use it (assuming you've got it set up correctly), it's just going to tell you something slightly different. However in our organisation we've hidden this variable from users and directed them to marketing channels for consistency. In terms of the set up of this particular variable, Adobe automatic...

@Andrey_Osadchuk - that's a fair comment, I can't say these will be collected. Might be worth doing some testing if you are able to recreate the scenario.

Re: two server call are generated, one is getting through... A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
Is the failed server call a link tracking call triggered on navigation from one screen to another? This is the only circumstance I've seen this "(failed)" status before. In this circumstance it doesn't necessarily mean that the server call has failed to reach Adobe i.e. data may still have been collected. In this circumstance, the failed status is returned when the navigation to the next screen completes before the response come back from the Adobe server (which shouldn't impact data collection ...

There can be a few different reasons for this (not all bad), what was the status against the failed server call? (the successful one will have had a status of "200")

Re: Building a segment - Within x hits operator A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
The segment as described will return any visits that contain "A then B within one page view" at any point within the journey. So the journey described would be included as it matches this criteria. I also wondered whether turning off "count repeat instances" under the menu Project > Project Info & Settings might be useful to you depending on what you are doing as hit 2 and hit 3 would be filtered out in this case.

Add conditions to Adobe Analytics Set Variable action A_Wathen - Adobe Experience Platform Launch
It would add a very useful additional layer of flexibility if the Adobe Analytics extension allowed you to add a condition against the variable you were setting (dare I say it, similar to processing rules! 😅) At the moment if I want to conditionally set a variable (e.g. an eVar) I either have to have a completely separate rule or I have to use custom code within the action both of which are a compromise for different reasons.

Make download and exit link detection an Adobe Launch core extension event rather than part of appMeasurement.js A_Wathen - Adobe Experience Platform Launch
The auto detection of download and exit links provided by the Adobe Analytics appMeasurement.js is useful. However, it would make far more sense to me if these were events provided by the core extension. The benefit would be we would be able to:make the way these events are handled consistent with everything else we are doing (i.e. managing what happens through Launch rules rather than hacking stuff together using doPlugins)make these events available as a trigger event for other capabilities im...

Search for text within custom code editor A_Wathen - Adobe Experience Platform Launch
Within the custom code editor, if there is a large amount of code entered adobe appear to be dynamically loading the code as you scroll - so the whole block of code is never there in it's entirety. This makes it very difficult to search the code as the browser search functionality does not work as expected. Please can you consider adding an option to search the custom code within the editor?

Re: Using Federated IDs to restrict third party access to... A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
I don't think this can be done. Adobe does allow you to mix and match Identity types so you could use 'Federated ID' to manage your internal users and 'Adobe ID' to manage third parties. In which case you many want to restrict the level of access that those using the Adobe ID have. If your company uses something like Azure Active Directory, you may be able to use this to allow authentication on to devices not on your corporate network. This wouldn't be locked to an IP address range but could enf...

Segment Manager/Calculated Metrics Manager: Filter based on sharing A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
One of the greatest things about Adobe Analytics the ability to share data/insight etc. However, when it comes to managing the sharing of segments/calculated metrics this is difficult as there is no way to filter based on who the segment/calculated metric is shared with. Given the emphasis on sharing within the tool it would be great if this gap could be closed. Please could a 'shared with' filter option be considered in the segment manager/calculated metrics manager similar to the exiting ones ...

We are making great use of the component 'tags'. However, it would be really useful if Adobe enhanced the 'out of the box' tags to allow some additional granularity:#MetricsAt the moment all metrics are lumped together but it would be great to be able to quickly filter on:calculated metricscustom eventsdefault metrics (e.g. page views, visitors, evar instances etc)#DimensionsAt the moment all dimensions are lumped together but it would be great to be able to quickly filter on:custom propscustom ...

Search for components NOT containing a specific tag A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
The system for tagging components is really useful in Adobe Analytics. However, something that would be significant enhancement for us would be to be able to search for components that are not tagged with a specific tag i.e. exclude from the list of components returned those containing specific tagsPlease could this be considered?

Re: Workspace:New flow visualization - how users navigate between 2 points A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
Just wondered if this was on Adobe's radar at all?Using Ad hoc to do this used to be my 'go to' answer for those people who'd ask the well meaning but flawed question:'Can you tell me the top 10 journeys on the site?'Top 10 Journeys only probably account for 0.00001% of visits (so pretty useless), but what they were really asking was how do users get from 'A' to 'B'.We could really do with some way to answer this in Analysis Workspace... please

Re: Ability to copy/transfer Virtual Report Suite settings A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
Thanks Alan, I loot at the API documentation but it didn't look like you could get at the component curation set up of a VRS through the API unfortunately.Anyhow, component tags have come to our rescue as we've been able to work around this issue by tagging all the common components that we want to include and then filtering on that tag within the VRS component set up page. A bit of a pain having to go through and tag each component but at least it's a one off job rather than having to do each V...

Ability to copy/transfer Virtual Report Suite settings A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
It would be a massive time saver if it was possible to copy the set up of one VRS to another existing VRS - particularly the component customization settings. We have many existing Virtual Report Suites that we are trying to align. One of my poor analyst is currently facing the prospect of spending days of his life going through and aligning thousands of components between these multiple VRSs. Alternatively, we'll have to remove all the existing VRS and start again which causes it's own problems....

Re: Intention to End-of-life Ad Hoc Analysis (Discover) announced A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
Our biggest problem with this behavior is the following scenario where we have an application process that users can apply for several products through. We wanted to have a fallout report for the different steps with a panel level segment drop down filter for the different products over the top of this. However, if a user applies for more than one product in a visit data from one products shows in the fallout for the other which is a real pain It means you potentially have to build out 20 fallout...

Re: Intention to End-of-life Ad Hoc Analysis (Discover) announced A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
One thing that has tripped us up is that panel level segments are not applied to the fallout report in the same way as Ad Hoc Analysis. To recreate the same affect you have to add the segment to every touchpoint which is a pain.I was wondering if Adobe might consider aligning this? Workspace: Make Fallout visualization respect hit level panel segments A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
Adobe have changed the way fallout reports in Analysis Workspace apply panel level segments verse previous tools such as Ad Hoc Analysis (As described in this Fallout help article)Hit level segments applied at a panel level are not applied at a hit level to each touchpoint in the fallout visualization. Instead the fallout ignores the instruction and applies the segment at a visit level instead. It means you get some weird effects where data that you would not expect bleeds into the fallout. We ha...

Yes, I think you've understood what I'm getting at.At the beginning of your original post you said you "work a lot with the previous page dimension"So I assume you've got access to both:a custom prop or an eVar which is capturing 'previous page'and the out of the box 'page' dimensionI'm suggesting breaking down 'previous page' by 'page', which in affect becomes a 'next page' report(If you don't have a prop or eVar with 'previous page' captured into it then you should get whoever looks after your...

Re: Next Page in Workspace A_Wathen - Adobe Analytics
'Next page' in a table format:It sounds like you are capturing the 'previous page' into a prop or an eVar and using this as breakdown on 'page' to see what the previous page was.Conceptually you can just reverse these dimensions to get a 'next page' reporti.e. when you break 'previous page' down by 'page', previous page = page, and 'page' = 'next page'Does that make sense?
