Is there a way to link a button to a modal window?

I'm trying to do a button in my pdf file, that will open a modal windows, that will return a string, which will be inserted in the form.

P.S: This PDF is used online.

I really need some help!

You have "xfa.host.response" method which is a modal window to accept the input from the user...
