Hi all,
I'm new to LC, so this may be a dumb question...but is there any way I can have combs that are formatted differently than the default?
What I really want is a comb that has an open top, and preferably even has shorter teeth between elements - so for example a date comb collecting a date in the formation dd/mmm/yyyy would have full height teeth at either end and between day/month and month/year, but the separator between the three characters making up the month, (or 2 for day, or 4 for year) would have half-height teeth.
Hope that makes sense, I've attached a word doc showing what I have now, and what I want - hopefully that will clarify!
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Combs are generally used for print forms and not for interactive forms. If it is a print form you are designing then you can use a series of lines and boxes to accomplish the same thing. If it is an interactive form then I see no way to do it.

I realize the font size will be proportional to the combs, but can't you add vertical lines in the tall size that you want where you want?

I think the only way to do it would be draw your own combs and lay a comb field on top with the outline set to 0 (Object Palette -> Field tab, Appearance -> Custom).

Thank you everyone for your responses. I can live with the comb formatting for interactive forms and will just have to get drawing for paper copies!
Thanks again...greatly appreciated.
