Integrating AEP with OneTrust Consent Management – Experiences?

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for insights from anyone who’s integrated Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) with OneTrust (Universal Consent Management), especially using the native connector for Consent Management.

Specifically, I’d love to know:

  • Data Synchronization: How well does the synchronization between Data Subjects in OneTrust and AEP Profiles work? Is it near real-time and consistent, even if there’s a data subject merge in OneTrust? I’m curious if anyone has experience with the merge feature detailed here OneTrust Merge Data Subjects API  and can share how this reflected in AEP data?
  • Web SDK Consent Management: How well does web SDK consent management perform, especially for tracking consent accurately across channels?
  • Link Token: Does the connector ensure that AEP always has the current, valid Link Token for each data subject? Specifically, I’m interested in whether updates to consent status in OneTrust are immediately reflected in AEP so that outgoing messages always contain active, valid Link Tokens for user access to their privacy preferences.
  • Automatic Filtering: Is there a way to automatically filter out customers or leads in AEP who lack consent in OneTrust? If so, any best practices would be very helpful.
  • Other Benefits: Are there additional benefits you’ve found from using this connector?
  • Challenges: Any drawbacks or challenges you’ve encountered?
  • Compliance Support: Does it also support CASL (Canada), GDPR and other common international standards?

We have a few specific questions on this integration, but so far, the OneTrust community hasn’t provided the answers we’re looking for.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can share their experience!

Hello community!

I've gathered a lot of insights on this connector, and once I have a clearer understanding of its pros and cons, I'll share them here. In the meantime, please feel free to add any information you have. This could be valuable for others working with AEP and OneTrust as well.
