Smart Cache Update after changes in Navigation Menu

Dear Experts,

in the site editor, under page properties, there is an option "Hide in Navigation".

After changing this attribute and publishing the page, dispatcher receives an invalidation request for this path. The navigation menu is updated there, but... there are many other pages with pre-rendered menu stored in cache.

What would be a smart solution to update all affected pages without flushing the whole cache and causing horrendous response times?

I would be very thankful for any elegant solution ideas

Not sure how you have implemented navigation for your site.

but you could have used SSI Adobe Experience Manager Help | Set up Sling Dynamic Include in AEM
