AEM permission to enable Start Workflow button

Avatar

Level 5

Hi Team,

A group have Create, Modify and Read access to a folder. When a user of that group login & try to trigger a workflow on any of assets which are under that particular folder observes that Start Workflow button in timeline is disabled. What permissions as to be assigned to a user so that he can select the workflow from Start workflow button with out violating above three permissions on that folder.

Thanks.

There are different inbuilt user groups

  • workflow-users:
    • this group holds all the privileges necessary for your users to perform workflow actions.
    • when the account is in this group it only has access to workflows that it has initiated.
  • workflow-administrators:
    • this group holds all the privileges necessary for your privileged users to monitor and administer workflows.
    • when the account is in this group it has access to all workflows.

Add the user to the specific group based on the requirement

The Start Workflow option enabled if the user has the write access to /etc/workflow/instances folder(the above groups enabled with this access)

@rsl_lucky In order for a user to trigger the start workflow on any of the assets the user should have permissions on the /var/workflow/models and /var/workflow/instances folder in addition to the other permissions that you have already provided.
