Disabling Open tracking

Does anyone know if disabling the "Open tracking" on a delivery template will remove all code/pixels or whatever is related to the open tracking in the template? Or is the open tracking still happening in the background, and then it is just not possible to retrieve data when running the standard tracking workflow?

(I am aware that the open tracking is useless after Apple and Google changes years back)

Hi @alansonne

I would say, the 1x1 pixel might not be included in the email when this option is not selected.... a quick test will validate it though...have you tried?

Thanks

Denis

Hi @alansonne ,

If 'Opens tracking' is disabled, if a recipient had just opened the email and haven't clicked any of the links, then this record won't be tracked / available in Tracking log schema.

So only after the recipient clicked any of the links, then tracking record will be available for that recipient.

Yes - I understand this part, but my question is about the technical part of the "open tracking". As I understand the sent email will have an embedded "hidden" pixel, which is read/downloaded, when the email is opened. Is this pixel still present in the email, when the "Open Tracking" is disabled? And if it is present is any data regarding the read/download of the pixel store on the Adobe cloud?
