Path views for page pathing report doesn't equal to site section pathing report

Hi, I've a couple of pages of one Site Section of which I want to know the preceding site sections. Thus I created a segment based on Hit dimension with the criteria of the pages. When I apply this segment in the "Previous Site Section Flow" I get a different number of total path views as when I look at each page's previous path flow and sum the totals. How is this possible? Shouldn't the number match?

And further, what does this message in the previous site section report mean: "The selected page participated in 39.0% of total site path views" - when I apply a segment based on Hit dimension for just this one page?! Shouldn't it at least be 100% (or above if you consider during one visit there could be more than just one path leading to it)?
