Hello everyone,

I am planning to migrate GA to AA. Any good guide to be followed (best practices, how to map GA tracking data with AA, ETC  ) ?

Thanks

This should be a lot of fun.

Here is a guide I wrote: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/analytics-learn/tutorials/intro-to-analytics/transitioning-f...

It's more of a how to transition on reporting, rather than a technical guide for how to tag, but this might give you some comparables to start.

On top of that, you will notice that Adobe has a lot more options and configurations on their dimensions and metrics.  Some of this documentation should help:

https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/analytics/components/dimensions/evar.html?lang=en

https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/analytics/implementation/vars/page-vars/events/events-overvi...

Since this is large question, this can be hard to answer all at once here, but the community is available to help you with specific questions.

Good Luck

Before you dive too much into the nuts and bolts of how to migrate things straight across to Adobe Analytics, I recommend that you approach this migration as an opportunity to evaluate your current data collection efforts also. Consider the following questions:

  • Do the dimensions and metrics we have been using address all of our business requirements?
  • Is data being collected that is no longer relevant or obsolete?
  • Is anything broken that needs to be fixed?

I find that these questions can be very helpful to ask and will save you time and some headaches later if you would like to add new items or choose not to migrate some existing tracking to Adobe Analytics
