IN-APP BROWSER TRACKING - ADOBE ANALYTICS DARK SOCIAL

Hi all,

I would like to ask you if there is anyone with a solid experience building a Processing Rule based on the User-Agent string of Facebook and Instagram App in order to remedy the problem of "Dark Social" ?

I already read this good article https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2014/12/15/shedding-light-dark-social-adobe-analytics.html#gs.851q... but it's really old, do you know if there is another workaround for in-app browser tracking?

Our client is pushing to increase the volume of traffic from Social Network and it would be good for us to track at least a part of this Dark Social since for the moment it's all computed within "Typed/Bookmarked".
We are aware that is not possible to track the clicks from Whatsapp/Telegram app.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

A workaround would be to pass the referrer in the URL. For example, foo.com?ref=https://facebook.com. Then, grab the query param ref and set is as s.referrer value.

Hi @khurshid, thank you very much for your answer. But this solution doesn't work for us because we would like to track the "user to user" sharing via Social Network in app-browser.
